“The truth has no defense against a fool determined to believe a lie.” – Mark Twain
There is a tremendous amount of information about lies and probably even more about stupidity. Tyrants of all stripes, whether they are royalists, fascists, Nazis or communists, have always operated with a similar premise: tell a big lie, loud and often enough and the masses will believe it. When you only have one source for information, even very intelligent people start believing the big lie or lies. Those with lower IQ’s are easier to convince and will eagerly spread the lies.
During Congressional hearings or when speaking to the press, there are many Senators and Representatives who have been caught lying previously. When they question witnesses or make public statements, they are never challenged about their past lies. If the press won’t question these politicians, then Republicans need to continuously point out that the politician making the assertion is a proven liar, so how can you trust what he is saying now.
Connecticut Senator Richard Blumenthal was exposed in 2010 for having lied about his military service in Vietnam. He never went to Vietnam while serving in the Marine Corps reserves. He should have resigned after this was uncovered, but Democrats never do that, no matter the scandal. Yet Senator Blumenthal has questioned President Trump’s honesty, and that of his family members, since 2017. Late last year, Blumenthal, in a hearing, asked US Attorney General Pam Bondi, if she would follow “unethical” or “illegal” orders from President Trump, implying the President would give such instructions. How a “stolen valor” perpetrator can question anyone’s ethics or honesty should be brought up loudly and publicly whenever he opens his mouth.
California Senator Adam Schiff, as a Congressman lied several times when he was Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee. Over the years in that position, he told the public that there was evidence that Trump “colluded with the Russians”, and that President Trump had committed crimes. Since he never brought forward any of this evidence, one must conclude that he was lying. Ever time Schiff makes a statement to the public and the press, he should be asked, “If you lied about Russian collusion so many time, how can we believe you now?”
One wonders how some Representatives in Congress are able to muster enough brain cells to get dressed in the morning. One of the dumbest, if not the leader in that capacity, has to be Georgia Representative Hank Johnson. During a hearing in 2010, Representative Johnson told a US Navy Admiral that he feared that if too many marines were placed on Guam, it would become overpopulated and would capsize. In addition, Congressman Johnson has made a couple of videos where he ineptly strums a guitar and painfully sings. In one video, Johnson warbles about Trump wanting “to kill democracy”. In another he screeches about Trump not releasing the Epstein files. Every time he questions a witness in a Congressional hearing or makes a public statement, Republicans need to loudly remind the public what a buffoon Johnson is and point to his past idiot statements and singing videos. The only people with less intellect than Hank Johnson, are those voters who keep voting him into office.
The closest competitor to Hank Johnson in the dummy category is California Representative Eric Swalwell. While serving on the House Intelligence Committee he publicly claimed that there was strong evidence that President Trump was a “Russian asset”. Swalwell stated that he had seen the evidence that Trump was an agent of Russia and there was no evidence that he wasn’t. There never was any evidence that Donald Trump was a Russian agent, despite the corporate press noisily spouting this story for months. While the Trump Russian asset lie was being spouted by Swalwell and others, it was uncovered that Swalwell had a close relationship with a probable Chinese spy called Christine Fang, AKA “Fang Fang”. Swawell and his office refused to comment on whether he and Fang had a sexual relationship. Without an expressed denial, any reasoning adult would conclude that they did have a “honeypot” relationship. Fang Fang was a “bundler” for Swalwell’s political campaigns and helped to get him elected. One has to wonder what information Swalwell purposefully or inadvertently gave to Fang Fang that she passed on to the Communist Chinese intelligence. Now Swalwell is running for governor of California. If elected, maybe he can open a Chinese consulate in the Governor’s Mansion.
These aren’t the only liars and morons in Congress. The idea is to confront those individuals with their past lies or idiocy every time they make a false claim against other public figures, regardless of what party.
