The city of Prescott welcomed 2026 in fine fashion with the 15th annual Boot Drop on Whiskey Row.
Party goers from all ages showed up, taking advantage of the break in the evening showers to enjoy some good music by the Ultimate Classics Band. The music set the tone for the evening with some great pop and rock songs.
Debbie Thomas said, “We took a chance to drive up and was hoping that the rain would stop and thankfully it did. It is fun to see so many out here having a good time and the band is great.”
Right at 10pm, and again at midnight, the boot dropped the 40 feet on top of the Palace building to signal in the New Year. Fireworks also followed the second the boot landed.
Gary Marvin said, “It was exactly how I thought it would be, a fun experience. The band was good and it was a nice local small town celebration.”
Quite a few left after the first drop, but as they left, many more were working their way onto Whiskey Row.
Alan Young said, “Everyone is having a great time. The weather cooperated and the band was fantastic. Watching the boot drop was pure Prescott to ring in the New Year.”
Happy New Year to everyone!
