Conservatives For A Constitutional Republic Host Tom Horne, Arizona Superintendent of Public Instruction

The local chapter of Yavapai County’s Conservatives for a Constitutional Republic (ConCR) has announced that their next meeting, this Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 11:15AM, will host Tom Horne, Arizona Superintendent of Public Instruction. Joining Mr. Horne will be Steve King, Yavapai County Superintendent of Education. Messrs. Horne and King will discuss current challenges facing public education in Arizona, with a specific focus on Yavapai County and rural education generally.    ConCR’s  meeting is free and open to the  public but seating is limited. Those wishing to attend are  asked to RSVP at concr2028@gmail.com.

Tom Horne has one of the most distinguished resumes of anyone in Arizona public life. He is currently one of only two Republicans to hold statewide office. Mr. Horne is a lawyer by profession,  graduating summa cum laude from Harvard as an undergraduate and from Harvard Law School.  After a brief stint in the financial industry, he settled in Arizona to practice law and raise a family. In 1982, he was elected to the Paradise Valley School Board, where he served as either President or a member for the next 21 years. In 2000 he was elected and then reelected to the Arizona State Legislature where  he served as Vice Chair of the Education Committee.

In 2004 Mr. Horne was elected Arizona Superintendent of Public Instruction and reelected in 2008. In 2012 he was elected Arizona Attorney General. His tenure was noteworthy for his defense before the US Supreme Court of Arizona’s sweeping immigration law, SB1070, and his defense of Arizona’s expansive ‘right to carry’ law. Both laws remain on the books and have inspired similar laws in other states.

Steve King was elected Yavapai County’s Superintendent of Education in 2024. He previously worked in the charter school industry and served as Superintendent of the Cottonwood School District from 2018 to 2024. His remarks are expected to address academic performance issues and enrollment trends in Yavapai County schools.

The Yavapai County chapter of Conservatives For a Constitutional Republic is a group of conservative activists dedicated to defending and promoting the values of representative government as set forth in the United States Constitution. They are a private organization and not directly affiliated with a political party. However, most members are registered Republicans or conservative leaning Independents who are civically engaged or are current or former elected officials or candidates for office. During the upcoming election year, President Dutton has scheduled candidates for all top level state and county offices to address the group.

ConCR meets monthly at the Bible Baptist Church, 3490 N. State Road 89, in Chino Valley. Recent speakers include Congressman Eli Crane, County Supervisor Chris Kuknyo, County Sheriff David Rhodes, Arizona Senate President Warren Petersen, and many other prominent conservative figures and candidates for office.

ConCR is a membership organization. However, in the interest of informing voters about important issues and candidates, the appearances of guest speakers of high public interest are open to the public. All those wishing to meet Superintendents Tom Horne and Steve King and learn about education issues facing our state and county, are cordially invited to attend. Time permitting,  Messrs.  Horne and King, will stand for questions. Doors open at 10:30AM. The meeting will begin promptly at 11:15AM.  RSVP’s are requested and should be directed to concr2018@gmail.com.

  1. These two guest speakers are honorable men. Both have served us as administrators of true education as opposed to what it has become nationally.
Come and hear them. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and look deeper into the educational problems and solutions.
