Compassion and Enabling Are Polar Opposites – Buz Blog

Tolerating improper behavior without loving correction is false compassion and reinforces the common notion that wickedness might in fact be happiness.” – M. Joseph Brough

So much of what the far left has been doing, and is still attempting to do, culturally, sounds good at first blush. The results of their social experiments, however, are almost universally disastrous. It brings to mind the old adage, “the road to hell is paved with good intentions.” There are several areas in which the woke, socialist exploiters have tried to change our Western Civilization. They try to project themselves as compassionate, but what they are really doing is facilitating abnormal behavior.

Take, for example, the practice in many schools across the nation of passing students to the next grade, even though they haven’t passed the requirements of the grade they are in. This is done in many of our public schools in low income and minority areas. The argument that the leftist, social engineers give, reeks of false compassion. They contend that holding the student back a grade would stigmatize him or her as “stupid” or a failure and ruin the child’s self esteem. These so-called educators believe that it is more important not to hurt a students’ feelings, than to teach children the basic education that will ensure that they become productive members of society.

The consequence is that in many of our intercity school districts, few students can read or do math at anywhere near their grade level. This dishonest compassion has resulted in hundreds of thousands of students throughout the country who are ill prepared for any job other than unskilled labor, let alone any higher education. The ultimate outcome of the false compassion is that these kids are, at best, condemned to lives of poverty or worse, lives of crime, government dependency and more generations of fatherless families. Real compassion would be to keep a failing student back until that student is able to meet the minimum requirements for the grade failed. This true compassion also gives the child the opportunity to overcome failure and the gratification that it brings.

Another illustration of false compassion by the woke modernists is gender dysphoria. No matter what the supposed psychological experts contend, gender dysphoria is a psychotic condition that is usually temporary. When an individual, in particular a minor, tells anyone, their parents, teachers or doctors, that they think that they are the opposite of their biological, birth gender, that person needs professional help to deal with reality, not affirmation of their psychosis. That is what real compassion necessitates. The result of the false compassion is way too often, genital mutilation, breast augmentation in boys or removal in girls, chemical and hormonal body altering procedures that are required for a lifetime. Another outcome of these irreversible “therapies” is a lifetime of mental anguish.

A related field pushed by the “progressive” left is biological men in women’s sports, in women’s restrooms and locker rooms. In promoting their dim-witted “compassion” for male athletes who “identify” as female, these anti-reality wokesters show no compassion for girls or women who get injured by physically stronger males. They show no compassion for the females who lose events, scholarships or rankings to these “female identifiers”. Rather than pandering to these female impersonators with their false compassion, they need to be confronted with reality. The answer is blissfully easy. In any women’s sport, any contestant who has a Y chromosome should be ineligible.

The fact is that all false compassion requires the suspension of reality. It enables idiocy to rule. Let’s make reality great again.
