Over the past few days, we’ve seen a troubling increase in serious traffic accidents in our community. We’re urging all drivers to take a moment and drive smart, stay safe:
- Slow down – Speeding gives you less time to react and increases the severity of crashes.
- Don’t text or drive distracted – Keep your eyes on the road and hands on the wheel.
- Never run red lights – A few seconds saved isn’t worth a life lost.
- Pay attention – Stay alert to changing traffic conditions, pedestrians, and emergency vehicles.
- Don’t drive drowsy – Fatigue can be just as dangerous as impaired driving.
- Never drive under the influence – Alcohol and drugs impair your judgment and reaction time.
- Use your headlights – Especially during dusk, dawn, and bad weather.
- Drive defensively – Expect the unexpected and keep a safe following distance.
Every time you get behind the wheel, you have the power to protect lives—yours and others’. Let’s work together to keep Prescott roads safe for everyone.
