On December 11, 2024, the Chino Valley Police Department, in partnership with the Tri-City Taskforce, conducted a speed enforcement detail aimed at promoting road safety in the Chino Valley area. The Tri-City Taskforce, composed of the Chino Valley Police Department, Prescott Police Department, Prescott Valley Police Department, and the Arizona Department of Public Safety, collaborated to target speeding violations and increase awareness of traffic laws.
The operation took place between 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. and resulted in 41 vehicles being stopped for various violations. Officers issued 26 civil speed citations, 3 citations for other infractions, 4 warnings, 1 seat belt citation, and made 1 arrest for criminal speed. This detail reflects the ongoing effort to reduce traffic violations and ensure safer roadways for the community.
The Chino Valley Police Department is grateful for the support from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, whose funding made this enforcement detail possible. These operations are essential to improving traffic safety and reducing the risks associated with speeding. The Chino Valley Police Department will continue to partner with other local agencies to keep roads safe for all residents and visitors.

I’m wish there could be more of these. I was driving at 9:30 am yesterday south on 89 in the plains. I was doing 65, got scared because so many were riding my tail way to close. I sped up to 70 and cars were going around me like I was doing 50 or something. Buy the way, I was in the slow lane. It’s terrible driving in chino anymore.
I feel your pain, Robbie, but try driving on Williamson Valley Road from Outer Loop Road to Pioneer Parkway (toward Prescott) almost anytime. Tailgaters love that stretch and will “punish” you by sticking to your rear bumper if you dare to stay within the speed limit. And……..rarely/never a cop in sight to enforce the speed limit and/or ticket the tailgaters. Try to enter Williamson Valley Road as a resident of one of the side roads that feed into WV Road, and you put your life at risk. Law enforcement should assume responsibility for allowing such an ongoing mess.
