Christmas meals across the U.S. showcase a rich variety of regional flavors and traditions. In the Southwest, tamales and posole are staples, reflecting Hispanic influences, while the Pacific Northwest embraces fresh salmon and foraged mushrooms. Southern states delight in fried turkey, glazed ham, and sweet potato casserole, while New England tables often feature seafood chowders or roast goose. The Midwest leans into hearty casseroles and pierogis, a nod to its European roots, and Hawaii brings a tropical twist with kalua pork and poi. Fabuwood carried out a survey to ask 3,000 respondents which regional dish they would most like to see on their tables this Christmas day.
The top 10 were as follows:
#1 New York’s Cheesecake
Taking the number one spot, New York-style cheesecake is set to be the most popular this festive season with its luxurious, velvety texture and perfectly balanced sweetness. Across the country, it’s celebrated as the ultimate holiday dessert, blending indulgence with a touch of elegance.
#2 Idaho’s Prime Rib
Securing second place, Idaho’s prime rib is a robust centerpiece that embodies comfort and sophistication. Its rich marbling and hearty flavor make it a sought-after dish for Christmas dinners nationwide, especially for those who value a traditional, meat-focused feast.
#3 Texas’s Texas-Style BBQ Brisket
Coming in third, Texas-style BBQ brisket offers a smoky, tender, and flavorful experience that stands out on any holiday menu. This dish appeals to BBQ lovers across the U.S. who crave bold flavors during the festive season.
