The Importance of Voting Down Ballot – Buz Blog

The ballot is stronger than the bullet.” – Abraham Lincoln

It’s not opinion polls that determine the outcome of elections, it’s votes in ballot boxes.” – Nicola Sturgeon

While it looks like Donald Trump has a good chance to beat Kamala Harris in the race for the presidency, it’s not a certainty. Every vote counts and in a close election they count even more. It is important to remember that there are other races on the ballot. There are also measures that should not be ignored when filling out a ballot. Who one votes for and what measures get passed, can have an effect on our safety, the taxes we pay, and our freedom.

Like kids in school, many voters hate to do their homework, but if we want to preserve our Constitutional Republic, it is every voter’s obligation to do his or her due diligence. That means looking into each down ballot candidate for Senate, Congress, Judgeship, school governing board member, and all of the ballot measures. With information readily available on the internet, it’s not that difficult. Local and state Republican organizations have candidates that are recommended. They also have suggestions on which ballot measures to vote for or against.

What about the Democrats? I’m sure they have their organizations that will do the same, which, in most instances, are the exact opposite of the Republican suggestions. Just remember what radio talk show host Don Bongino is always stating, “Republicans may not be the answer to all our problems, but the Democrats are the cause of our problems.”

Currently, our Senators from Arizona are Mark Kelly, who is pretty much a low profile, do nothing, Democrat hack, who votes with his party on almost every issue and Krysten Sinema, who has occasionally shown some party independence. Since Senator Sinema has declared her independence from the Democrat party and has decided not to run for reelection, the Democrats are running Congressman Ruben Gallego for that seat.

To fulfill a voter’s responsibility to research candidates there is an internet site, https://justfacts.votesmart.org/candidate/evaluations that gives the voting records of every Senator and Congressional Representative. In addition, one can find out how candidates are rated by political organizations from conservative to far left. A search of his ratings shows Gallego to have high ratings by left organizations in the areas of education, energy, abortion, immigration, religion and the family. That is not the impression his overly financed commercials portray. In those ads he’s described as a veteran, but also as strong on immigration, which he is not. Check out his endorsement at the above website. The conservative Heritage Foundation website, https://heritageaction.com/scorecard/members website gives him a lifetime score of 5%. The NRA gives him a 0 for his positions on gun rights.

Gallego’s Republican opponent is former television newscaster and gubernatorial candidate, Kari Lake. Her positions have been clearly stated on immigration, abortion and the 2nd Amendment. The Democrats are going after Lake for her stand on abortion and her belief that she lost the governorship due to voter fraud. At this point, the results of that election are merely academic and are only used by the Dems to distract from the issue of immigration. There are some Republicans who may not vote for Lake because they didn’t like some of her statements about her primary opponent, Sheriff Mark Lamb. This kind of folly would leave Arizona with two left wing, anti-gun, anti-school choice, Democrats representing us in the US Senate. Republicans need to vote their conservative values. Not voting in the Senate race is a vote to turn our state “blue”.

The same is true for the vote for Congress. Representative Eli Crane has done such a great job voting for the values of the majority in this Congressional District 2 and Yavapai County, that if we vote our beliefs, Crane should beat Democrat Jonathan Nez handily.

In our Arizona State Legislature, conservative tenets would dictate that Mark Finchem should be elected to the State Senate from our legislative district. Finchem beat Ken Bennett, who deserves our thanks for his longtime service to our area and state, but Finchem won the primary and deserves all of our votes. Quang Nguyen and Selina Bliss have served us well and deserve our support for reelection. If we conservatives vote our moral and political values, we will win the presidency and all the down ballot contests.

  1. So true, Buz. I am concerned about the people and equipment in Maricopa County that has NOT been improved and cost Republicans the last two elections. On a flight from Dallas to Phoenix I sat next to a black man who told me he worked the 2020 and 2022 elections in Maricopa and attempted to report fraud but he was rebuffed even as a Democrat. He said I will no longer volunteer. So, hopefully. good people of all or no political party will vote Trump- Lake on their ballot and all the way down. As for the propositions, a read of who is for and who is against will show you many anti Republican voter props need a NO. Most are also funded by out of state leftist and globalists. VOTE like your families future depends on your valuable vote because it does. M Arizona G A , M America G A
