“Words: So innocent and powerless as they are, as standing in a dictionary, how potent for good and evil they become in the hands of one who knows how to combine them.” – Nathaniel Hawthorne
The left has been using words and phrases to vilify any and everyone who disagrees with them. The words they use are also intended to confuse issues. In an effort to clarify what the woke purveyors and their allies in the corporate press are trying to do, the following explanations are presented for the reader’s edification.
Antifa/Antifascist – A group of anarchists that claim to be against fascism, but use all of the tactics that previous historical gangs of fascists have used.
Code words – Words or phrases that supposedly have a hidden racist meaning. When woke opponents say something that is apparently not the least bit racist, wokesters will state that these were “code words” that have some secret racist meaning. Similar to a dog whistle.
Critical Race Theory/CRT – An intellectual fallacy that is intended to divide people into groups of oppressors and those they oppress.
DEI/Diversity, Equity, Inclusion – This is a political policy of appointing, promoting or enrolling individuals, not on the basis of ability, experience, and intelligence, but only on the basis of race, gender, sexual preference and/or gender transition.
Dog whistle – A term used to accuse the speaker or writer of racism, misogyny, transphobia or anti-gay rhetoric, when the statement is innocuous, but the leftists disagree with it. A dog whistle is supposed to be a signal to other conservative “extremists”.
Hitler – Donald J. Trump, who the woke consider the reincarnation of the most infamous tyrant of all time. They present no proof, but keep up this accusation without proof or any comparison of the actions, policies or philosophy between the two.
Mussolini – J. D. Vance, this is just a continuation of referring to Trump as Hitler.
Nazis – Anyone who is pro Trump, who wears a MAGA hat or shirt or points out the idiocy of Woke policies.
Racism – When used by the woke racism is any policy, idea or situation that progressive wokesters disagree with. The accusation of racism is meant to suppress further debate on the subject.
Systemic Racism – This is a term used by the leftists to explain why statistics show that some ethnic groups are over represented in prisons and underrepresented in some professions.
Threat to democracy – An accusation made against Trump or his followers. As proof, they claim that Trump will jail his political opponents, rig elections and tear up the Constitution.
The fact that Trump never did these things while he was President doesn’t stop them from making the claim. The Biden/Harris administration has done all of these things, but that doesn’t dissuade them from making this hyperbolic assertion against their political foes.
White privilege – This is supposedly the advantage White people have simply because of their race. It is applied to all White persons regardless of their ability and drive. The woke never recognize unsuccessful Whites because they don’t fit into their theory of White privilege.
White supremacy – An accusation that is meant to stifle any debate about race, DEI or Critical Race Theory.
The above is just a small sample of woke terms and phrases. Everything in the woke agenda is intended to divide Americans into conflicting groups by race, sex, sexual preference and economic status. The only conclusion one can make about this agenda is that a divided people are much easier to control than a people united.

As I read Buz’s modern Marxist dictionary I was reminded of some research on our Yavapai County Library system and the politically “sensitive” ones. I was particularly concerned about “Project 1619” written by a New York Times reporter rewriting history. She says America was founded in 1619 and was based on slavery. There are over 7 copies of this book in our library system . “Project 1776” a Trump encouraged book researching American history as written, has “one” copy in our library system and is in the Yavapai Community College library as I recall.
So ask yourself why would 7-9 county libraries buy 1619 for circulation and only one buy 1776? Certainly a college library would but as with new political exposé books; they are in high demand at least for a while. Could it be librarians in general are more liberal-left than the general population?
Wow Buz, what a great article!!! I wish you could print it on the front page of The Courier and every newspaper in the United States. Tom Steele’s sure drives home the point also, thank you both. In less than a month, America will show Harris which party is the strongest and more powerful, and Donald Trump will be elected and he will turn out country around and back in the right direction. On a personal note, I think Donald Trump deserves to be given a metal of honor at his inauguration!! The man has fought for our country, he has been in a war (Iran), he has put his life on the line for all of us, yes, he has been in combat. Anyone who does this deserves a metal. Thanks again for the great article.
