Just before 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 1st, Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office responded to a fatal injury accident involving a motorcycle and pickup truck at the intersection of Williamson Valley and Granite Oak in Prescott.

Multiple deputies were on scene within a few minutes. Off duty paramedics were already rendering aid to the motorcycle rider who was soon driven to a hospital in critical condition. YCSO was later advised that the 48-year-old Kingman man succumbed to his injuries and passed away. The driver of the pickup truck was not injured.

Both vehicles were towed for evidence collection and deputies will be continuing their investigation of the collision.

  1. As a resident of Granite Oaks subdivision, it amazes me
to be a constant witness to the aggressiveness of drivers bound for Prescott on Williamson Valley Road. Speeding, tailgating and general disregard for residents in the area are an everyday occurrence—especially during the earlier morning hours when traffic is heavier and faster. The 50 mph speed limit is mocked by those drivers who evidently take the Road from Chino Valley, speed, and not a Sheriff’s deputy in sight. The 50 mph limit is proper due to the ingress of residents of Williamson Valley needing to safely enter onto Williamson Valley Road to proceed to Prescott. It makes no difference to the tailgaters, however. One can speed up on the two-lane road, but no matter how fast one travels to avoid/escape tailgaters, they still choose to tailgate.
