The first half of the Mile Hi Horseshoe Club’s season at Watson Lake is in the books. Two classes of pitchers battled it out with one dominating and the other needed to rally from a slow start.
An early start was welcomed by all participants as temperatures warmed up quickly. A few high clouds and a breeze were a plus as the temperature was in the mid 80s by tournaments end.
Cody Williams won the overall tournament championship beating out Hal Handelman and Emmett Jones, who finished second and third. Williams swept his opponents and sits at a 44.50 average on the season.

Steve Harman seemed to struggle with an unusual slow start in his first game, but quickly turned it around to win his last three game in dominating fashion to take Class B. Harman threw a 54% ringer percentage in his second game, doubling his first game of 27%. Brian Belcher, in his first season, took second and Jay Mast finished third.
State Tournaments resume in August after the World Horseshoe Pitching Championship Tournament that is taking place in Tri-Cities, Washington.
