When writing my weekly column, I quite often like to use a quote at the start of the column, if I can find one that is appropriate to the subject. With the elections approaching, I thought that the above quote from Octavia E. Butler more than addressed what we should look for when voting. By comparing Joe Biden to the above quote, it provides a vivid explanation for the horrific state our country is currently suffering through.

Is President Biden a coward and are we being controlled by his fears? The disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan left over 800 Americans behind enemy lines. The poor planning of the withdrawal left thirteen Marines dead and billions of dollars in military equipment in the hands of the Taliban. This military gear is undoubtedly being used to kill our former Afghan allies and will get into the hands of terrorists if it hasn’t already.

Biden’s remarks about Russia suffering only small consequences for a “minor incursion” into Ukraine territory all but invited the Russians to invade Ukraine. Like most cowards, when confronted with opposition, Biden displayed indecisiveness. He failed at first, to give the Ukrainians the weapons they needed to defeat the Russians early on, for fear the Russians might take offense. For the same reason, Biden has slow walked almost all of their weapons requests.

This chickenhearted president has followed the same course in Israel. After Hamas attacked Israel last October, Biden loudly proclaimed his “rock solid and unwavering” support for Israel. That support lasted until the Hamas left wing of the Democrat party voiced their opposition. Then the Biden administration started demanding that Israel sign on to a cease fire before they had defeated the Hamas terrorists. Fearful indecisiveness by the lily-livered Biden Administration invites our enemies to confront us and diminishes the respect and trust of our allies.

Is Biden a fool and are we being led by the “opportunists” who control him? When Joe Biden spouts incomprehensible words and phrases, when he can’t find his way off a stage, when he stares off into the distance for no apparent reason, it is impossible to believe that his loss of cognizance hasn’t turned him into a fool. The opportunists who control him are trying to control Americans by pushing asinine theories like men can have babies, that we are transphobic if we don’t think our children should be subjected to “drag queen story hours”, that biological men should be able to compete in women’s sports, and that the world will end in six or eight years if we don’t stop using petroleum products.

Is Joe Biden a thief? With his energy policy, with his extreme spending of our tax dollars, with his crony capitalism, he has caused inflation that has stolen our earnings and our prosperity.

Is President Biden a liar? Years before he was elected President, Joe Biden was a liar. It’s like the old expression, “if his lips are moving, he’s lying.” He has lied about scholarships he claimed he had. He lied about his ranking in law school. He lied about his association with the civil rights movement and about meeting and/or traveling with world leaders.

Is Biden a tyrant? His use of heavily armed FBI SWAT teams to arrest non-violent citizens is a move that tyrants use to intimidate those who oppose them. Biden and Attorney General Garland’s use of “lawfare” to hinder and jail his political opponents are classic examples of tyranny. Trump supporters Steve Bannon, Peter Navarro, Roger Stone and others have been sentenced to jail or prison terms. Bannon and Navarro were convicted of the misdemeanor for contempt of Congress for failing to comply with a subpoena. Democrat allies like John Brennan and James Clapper, both who lied to Congress, have never been prosecuted for this felony. Another sign that we are living in the grasp of a tyranny.

So when you vote this year, remember Octavia Butler’s advice, “Choose your leaders with wisdom and forethought.”
