Are You Tough Enough to Race, Run and Have Fun at The 46th Annual YMCA Whiskey Row Marathon?

On Saturday, October 12, 2024, the James Family YMCA will proudly present the 46th annual Whiskey Row Marathon from beautiful and historic downtown Prescott. This is an Arizona running tradition which has developed a reputation over the years for being both challenging and fun, while attracting runners from across the country.

If you are looking for a healthy way to spend a rewarding weekend, the Whiskey Row Marathon offers something for everyone. Participants at every skill level will find a full palette of course options, including full and half marathons, and shorter 10K and 5K courses. There is also a .3 Mile-High Fun Run that is a very popular option for families and children. Register now online at active.com!

Our altitude and terrain are sure to challenge the serious competitor, while the Mile-High Fun Run presents a more laid-back opportunity to count your steps. Regardless of your ability or your personal fitness goals, we invite you to come out, get involved, spend some time with family and friends, and support the James Family YMCA.

This year’s event kicks off at 3:00 pm on Friday, October 11, with a Pre-Race Expo at the James Family YMCA in Prescott. This is an excellent opportunity for participants to pick up a swag bag, which includes registration information, a commemorative shirt, and other goodies. Attending this pre-marathon celebration is also a great way to meet event sponsors and other participants, with the chance to pick up some last-minute tips from the people who know the courses best.

Participants who can’t make it to the Pre-Race Expo on Friday, can pick up their registration packets the day of the marathon at Matt’s Saloon, between 5:00 am and 7:30 am, on Saturday, October 12.

The Whiskey Row Marathon’s event schedules are as follows:

  • 5:00 am: Full Marathon Early Start
  • 6:00 am: Full Marathon Start
  • 7:00 am: Half Marathon Start
  • 7:10 am: .3 Mile-High Fun Run Start
  • 7:30 am: 10k Start
  • 8:00 am: 5k Start

A finish line expo will greet finishers and visitors alike on Cortez Street in downtown Prescott between 7:00 am and 12:00 pm. Delicious refreshments will be available.

We Love Our Volunteers

Volunteering is a great way to be involved with the Whiskey Row Marathon. We love our volunteers and there are so many ways to contribute. We have opportunities for volunteers at our water stations and refreshment garden. We need volunteers who can help with course management and traffic control. And we need volunteers who can help with pre- and post-race event management. Visit whiskeyrowmarathon.com to sign up.

A Healthy Way to Support a Great Cause

The Whiskey Row Marathon is the largest fundraising event of the year for the James Family YMCA in Prescott. Your participation is important to support the Y’s not-for-profit Mission and focus on youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Proceeds generated from entry fees and other community support help to fund important programs and provide access for people regardless of their ability to pay.

The James Family YMCA would also like to acknowledge and thank our event sponsors for their generous support of the Whiskey Row Marathon. We offer special thanks to Dignity Health, Yavapai Regional Medical Center for their continued support as our Presenting Sponsor. We deeply appreciate the City of Prescott for being such an important Community Sponsor. And we offer our sincere gratitude to Rox Media Group, Pinnacle Bank, Nackard Pepsi, and Yavapai Amateur Radio Club, Chick fil A, Brown & Brown Insurance, and Premier Catering, for their generous support.
