Learn About Areas of Mental Health Impacting Our Veterans and How to Appropriately Address Them
The Northern Arizona VA Health Care System (NAVAHCS) is pleased to invite Veterans, their families and community stakeholders to the 13th Annual VA and Community Mental Health Summit taking place at the Elks Lodge in Prescott Valley on Tuesday, May 14 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The theme of the summit is “Stop the Stigma.”
“Stopping the stigma involves promoting advocacy, empathy, and acceptance surrounding Mental Health,” said Jennifer Sigler, a clinical psychologist at NAVAHCS. “At NAVAHCS, we want our Veterans to feel comfortable openly discussing the challenges they face so they can connect with the resources available within our VA and our community.”
Throughout the summit, there will be presentations on moral injury, PTSD and family relations, inequities in women veteran’s mental health care, and more. For a full agenda, please visit our website’s events page: https://www.va.gov/northern-arizona-health-care/events/67284/.
