The Prescott area had seven players participate in the 2024 Arizona State Championships held in North Phoenix on Saturday.
Trisha Lincoln of Prescott went undefeated having an 8-0 record. Lincoln pitched a high game of 83.3%, by getting 15 out of 18 ringers. She averaged 64.71% for the tournament, pitching well above her entry average. This is Lincoln’s tenth Women’s Championship Title and she has moved up to 29th out of the top 100 women in the world. She will be going to Washington this summer to compete in the NHPA’s World tournament (National Horseshoe Pitchers Association).

Hal Handelman of Chino Valley finished third in the B Elders class. Mike Brewer, from Prescott, who had a (6-3) record on the day, won the Elders Class C after the result of a playoff was needed to determine the Class champion. Brewer pitched above his entry average closing out the day with a 44.12 % average. Cody Williams, also from Prescott, placed third in the Elders C Class.
