Canceling the Cancelers – Buz Blog

We have been avoiding this fight for too long. In the 1960s and 70s and even earlier, it was understandable. The corporate press had a lock on what to air or print. They utilized their near exclusive hold on information to publish and broadcast what they wanted the public to hear. They used their power to ignore, to hide from the people, facts they didn’t want them to know. There were some books, magazines and articles that were counter the conventional wisdom of the corporate press, but those were considered to be extremist. In this manner, the legacy press manipulated and socially engineered public opinion to their agenda and view points. All of that started to change with the advent of the internet, cable news networks and the rise in vocal conservative messengers.

As the COVID-19 panic took hold, more and more of the masses saw the idiocy of what the press and the so-called medical experts were telling us. Those who possessed common sense started to question what they were being told. Why were you safe if you socially distanced by six feet, but you were putting yourself and others in danger if you were closer than five feet. Your safety was in peril if you walked into a restaurant without a mask, but you were safe from COVID if you took the mask off after being seated or to eat. The mainstream media never asked these questions because they wanted us to comply with the draconian medical edicts, like the sheep they wanted us to be.

Once it was exposed by other media outlets, that the broadcast and paper corporate media were pushing their often erroneous, COVID-19 news items and withholding that which they sought to keep hidden from the public, inquiring minds wanted to know what other pertinent news items were they spinning or hiding. They were hiding anything that questioned the COVID restrictions, the effectiveness of the vaccine or who was making money during this pandemic. Why were big businesses allowed to stay open and small businesses forced to close? Why were churches closed, but George Floyd “protesters” allowed to gather, riot and burn? Why were bars, liquor stores and marijuana dispensaries deemed to be “essential” and gyms and sport venues deemed “non-essential”?

The COVID-19 obfuscations weren’t even the tip of the iceberg of what the usual press was slanting, lying about and hiding. Almost anything positive about Donald Trump was ignored by the major news outlets, while anything negative was regurgitated often daily or hourly. Often these stories were not only later proved to be false, but many were completely made up. Trump wasn’t the only victim of these false and/or negatively spun news items. Any conservative, from Kari Lake to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis were subjected to these negative leaning attacks. Any conservative in Congress, state governments or local offices are targeted by the left wing press.

What can be done to these purveyors of mendacity and slanted reporting? We need to turn the left’s own weapons against them. Cancel them. All of the network news organizations and the left leaning cable news channels need to be turned off. Before doing that, however, list their sponsors. Then notify the advertisers that you are not only not watching the shows they sponsor, you are not going to use the products they advertise. Send copies to the news groups and explain that until they stop slanting the news you will continue your personal boycott of the news broadcast and the products that sponsor them.

In the print media, do the same thing. If you get the New York Times, LA Times, Washington Post, or their left leaning periodical, cancel your subscription and notify them and their advertisers why you are doing this. If you live in a conservative area, and your local newspaper is leaning to the left, if they won’t print your letters to the editor any more, but print the local liberal letters at two, three or more times than they print conservative views, cancel your subscription and tell them why. It begs the question, why are you paying good money for a product that isn’t serving you, reflecting your views and those of your community, especially when there is a free alternative at Prescott eNews?
