FLAGSTAFF AT PRESCOTT
After three long road trips, the Prescott Badgers were more than happy to get back home, and it showed with an impressive 53-20 win over the Flagstaff Eagles.

The homecoming game featured the crowning of the Jack Burton and Ava Nolte on a weather friendly night for football.
Prescott came out ready to get down to business forcing an early punt by the Eagles. Soon after, quarterback Jaxon Rice hit Johann Gundermann for a 49 scoring strike, and with the Jed Rummage kick, made it 7-0.
Another defensive stop allowed the Badgers to go up 14-0 on a one yard run by Isaac Briseno.

Flagstaff found success on their third possession of the night to cut into the Prescott lead to 14-6 on a one yard run by Jadon Wetzel. The junior running back would end up with 127 yards on 28 carries.
Jed Rummage would add a 31 yard field goal to extend the lead to 17-6 midway through the second quarter.
The Eagles once again were able to move the ball and score. This time on a 10 yard pass from Chase Brown to Evan Priest. Michael Nielson added the kick to make it a 17-13 game with 2:29 left in the half. Prescott closed out the half to lead 20-13 with a Rummage field goal of 27 yards.
The Badgers came out running on all cylinders put some distance between them and Flagstaff with four third quarter touchdowns.
Josiah Peoples started it off with a good return on the second half kickoff to midfield. Two plays later Rice threw deep hitting Gundermann in stride for a 45 yard touchdown. The first turnover came when Flagstaff fumbled the ball and Rice recovered the ball at Eagles 48. Five plays later, Briseno would score his second TD on the night on a three yard run. Another defensive stop and the ability to move the ball on the ground and through the air set up
Tenette for a one yard run to make it 39-13. Tenette would prove his ability once again to be a play maker with a 26 yard run and a 46-13 Badger lead.

Tenette followed that by picking off a pass and taking it down to the Eagles nine yard line. Trace Overton picked up his first touchdown of the season with a one yard run early in the fourth quarter. A running clock ensued to make the final quarter go by quickly.
Flagstaff (0-2), (2-5), scored their first points since the second quarter when Trezaun Stingley went around the end for an eight yard touchdown.
Offensively, Jaxon Rice was 9-14-0, 133 yards, and two touchdowns. The Badgers had 368 yards rushing. Uriah Tenette led the ground attack averaging 11.7 yards per carry with 167 yards and two touchdowns. Trace Overton saw a lot of action in the second half rushed for 68 yards. Johann Gundermann caught five passes for 102 yards and two TDs. On the other side of the ball, linebacker Wyatt Rewarts led with 11 tackles. Prescott recorded five sacks of the Flagstaff QB with Cooper Kasun, Gunnar Parra, and Isaac Muffley leading the charge.
The Badgers (1-1) and (3-4) will enjoy a bye week before facing rival Bradshaw Mountain on October 20 at Bill Shepard Field. Game time is 7pm.

MINGUS AT BRADSHAW MOUNTAIN
The Bradshaw Mountain Bears recovered quickly from a disastrous game at Coconino last week with a 34-7 homecoming win over the Mingus Marauders.
Despite losing two fumbles, the Bears opened up a 28-0 halftime lead by scoring a pair of touchdowns in each of the first two quarters. Quarterback Bruce Normandin rushed in from six yards out to go up 7-0 after Trevor Head PAT. Gabriel Ricketts would score the next two touchdowns from two and five yards out. The final blow in the first half for Mingus came when Normandin connected with Brayden Munday for a 35 yard TD pass.
After a scoreless third quarter, the Marauders were able to get the goose egg off the board on a 13 yard touchdown run by Koby De le haye. Ricketts would score the last of his three touchdowns for Bradshaw Mountain to close out the game.
Ricketts passed Dave Moran to become the second leading rusher in Bradshaw Mountain history. On top of that was that this was the 250th win in program history.
The Bears improved to (1-1) in the GCR and (5-2) overall are off this week and will take the short drive to Prescott for the rivalry game on October 20 at 7pm.
