The City of Prescott has contracted with Polco to participate in the National Community Survey (NCS). This will be a community-wide survey, designed to identify clear priorities for use in strategic planning and budget setting. There will be a two-part survey. First, 3,000 citizens from the City of Prescott will be randomly selected to take part in a survey. The survey will be mailed to those citizens with a unique link that only they can use. Then, there will be an open survey, available on the City’s website. The information received from these surveys will help the City elected officials and staff understand our community’s priorities, to help plan and budget for the upcoming fiscal year. The mail survey will be conducted starting October 10, and concluding November 21. The open survey will begin November 6 on the city website.
“We are excited to conduct this survey so that we can hear from our citizens about important matters of governance,” said City Manager Katie Gregory. “One of my priorities is for our leaders to make data driven decisions when planning and budgeting. This will be an excellent first step. The NCS is a proven tool for engaging citizens.”
Developed over 20 years ago and continually refined, the NCS is a survey of resident opinion that provides robust benchmark comparisons among communities across the nation. It has been used in more than 350 jurisdictions across 46 states. Communities using The NCS have reported that the tool improved service delivery, strengthened communications with community stakeholders, and helped leaders identify clear priorities for use in strategic planning and budget setting. It is the only resident survey endorsed by the International City/County Management Association and the National League of Cities.
Polco is an online community engagement polling platform that is conducting The NCS. Polco launches surveys and analyzes the data, providing local governments and other public sector leaders with important information needed to make decisions within the community. Hundreds of organizations nationwide use Polco for strategic planning, budgeting, and empowering resident voices.

Glad to know that finally someone cares about the opinion of the people who live here. I hope every voices their opinion on the congestion, over crowding, the destruction of our land and mountains to build more and more homes. Too many people are moving to what use to be a wonderful, quiet little friendly town but that’s a thing of the past. Prescott is money hungry and gets paid for every house built. It’s all about the money and no longer about the people.
