Uniting With Evil Is Wrong – Buz Blog

“You don’t get unity by ignoring the questions that have to be faced.” – Jay Weatherill

Candidate and President Joe Biden promised that he would unify the country. How has that worked out? To Democrats, leftists, progressives and globalists, there can only be unity if you agree with them. Since the corporate media is on their side, their politicians never have to answer hard questions from that arena. Occasionally they are confronted in congressional hearings with questions that expose the illogic, hypocrisy or harmfulness of their policies. In those instances, these “heroes” of the left, have mastered the art of avoiding a direct answer. Instead, they give an answer to a question that promotes their views, but will never answer the questioned asked, no matter how hard they are pressed.

So unity is difficult, or more likely impossible, with a group that won’t consider compromise and refuses to answer questions about points of conflict. In point of fact, most opinions, and those who express them, that are contrary to the left’s dogma, are labeled as racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, misogynistic or White supremacist.

The question then arises, why would Constitutional conservatives, patriots and those who love our country want to unify with a group that represents such absurd, ridiculous, anti-American ideas? Economically, why would conservatives want to unify with a party and position that believes it can combat inflation by raising taxes, printing more money, and spending trillions of dollars we don’t have?

Constitutionally, it makes no sense to unify with a collection of radicals that wants to limit the freedom of speech and expression by censoring views they find offensive. This is a set of people that hears “dog whistles” at every utterance of an opposing view. These are the extremists who cancel pundits, writers, artists and ordinary citizens because they have a different point of view from theirs.

Socially, why would we want to join forces with any bunch that wants to destroy the family? For decades, leftists and the entertainment industry have disparaged the role of fathers, exhibiting them as buffoons or racists or lazy. On the other hand, these same progressives, elevate all single mothers as saints. Undoubtedly, some are. Some, though, are not. Some are irresponsibly, having children without fathers to raise them. Many children raised in fatherless homes become criminals, don’t receive a good education and are more prone to suicide. The encouragement of abortion on demand up to birth, and sometimes beyond, eliminates future family members and the promotion of “death with dignity” mercy killings, does away with the elderly.

In addition, attempting to take away parents’ rights by withholding information about what is being taught, is a blatant attack on the family. Targeting and describing parents who object to woke curriculum as terrorists is not only a direct assault on family values, it is an overt attempt to frighten away dissent from failing and woke schools.

Culturally and scholastically, it would be asinine to unite with anybody who would be in favor of drag queen story hours, sexually transitioning children and young adults, the teaching of critical race theory, emotional social learning and abhorrent sex practices. Many of the Democrat, woke, progressive agenda and policies are anti-American, lack reason, substance, common sense and are bad for the country and our people. It would be wrong and cowardly to unite with such evil.

I’ve always thought “Father Knows Best” disparaged fatherhood. Robert Young’s character was the comic foil, and Jane Wyatt’s role as wife and mother always saved the day.

Even that time Bud bought that flivver tin lizzy Model T, she was the parent in the driveway with grease on her face, who got the thing to run.

At least, as situation comedy progressed, ABC’s “Roseanne” portrayed Dan Connors in a better light.

Buzz, you could replace “left” above with “right” without too much trouble but using “politicians” would be more accurate and encompassing.

  2. Billy, I agree that “politicians” now days connotes the negative view of those that seek public service for their own personal advancement and views and a lot of politicians on both sides of the political spectrum do that. But I don’t think that replacing left with right is at all accurate. It is the left that promotes wokism, drag queen story hour, CRT, pride months, revisionist anti-American history, et.al.

How do you define “wokism”? I see that term and variations thereof, but the meaning remains vague. We can address your other points after we can agree on a definition.

It appears to me that politicians of any stripe have their laundry lists of their oppositions’ faults, real or imagined, with those lists tailored to the demographic whose support is sought.

And as we have seen over the last 50-60 years, selling your opponents’ faults far easier and more effective in the electoral marketplace than attempting to toot own’s own horn by offering positive solutions.

I posit more voters voted “against” rather than “for,” in the last presidential contest, for instance.

    Thanks for the reply!

    1. Sorry, Billy. I was busy writing my next columns and didn’t check back to see if you responded. A reasonable definition of “wokism” is that it is a philosophy that seeks to overturn the cultural and societal mores of Western Civilization. It goes way beyond traditional liberalism into far left extremism.

Yep, just think of all the time it would save the Arizona Corporation Commission, for example. 😉
