When COVID struck, it enabled those who longed for power to exert it over others. Nationally this virus pandemic encouraged Dr. Anthony Fauci, the Center for Disease Control, big Pharma and big Tech to flex their bureaucratic muscles and restrict the rights of Americans. All of these groups had one thing in common: they were consistently inconsistent. “You don’t need to wear a mask.” “You need to wear a mask.” “You should wear two masks.” “You can’t get the virus if vaccinated.” “Well, you can get the virus, if vaccinated, but it will be a milder case.”
The most draconian closures and restrictions were in Democrat blue states. Churches, gyms, small retail businesses, schools and restaurants had to be closed because they were “non-essential”. Big superstores, marijuana dispensaries and liquor stores could stay open because they were “essential”. There were virtually no difference in the infection rates of countries and states that closed down everything and those that kept everything open.
Arizona was kind of in the middle with mask and vaccine mandates. Now that it seems like things are mostly back to normal, it seems there were some oddities going on within the Prescott Unified School District. Ever since Brooks Compton decided to run for the PUSD School Governing Board, after he found out his son was being taught what is essentially Critical Race Theory, other parents and teachers in the district have been giving him more proof that this can happen in our conservative hometown.
A teacher in the district sent Brooks Compton a two part memo by the Director of Human Resources for PUSD, Clark Tenney, dated Monday, August 16, 2021. The first part of the memo refers to the employees’ responsibility to review the PUSD Employee handbook. It is the second part of the memo that raises questions about the equitable treatment of employees and at least gives the appearance of a possible fraud.
The critical part of the memo reads as follows: “Beginning this month, PUSD will implement the following temporary COVID leave-related procedures: (A) If an employee is fully vaccinated and tests positive for COVID, the employee will not have to use their own sick leave while self-isolating. A copy of the vaccination card is required to prove vaccination. Supervisors will mark ‘school business’ in the TimeClock+ for that employee.
(B) If an employee’s child (under 12) must be quarantined at home due to being in close contact at school (not community contact) and requires a PUSD employee to stay home to provide child care, the employee will not have to use their own sick leave while caring for their child. Supervisors will mark ‘school business’ in the TimeClock+ for that employee.”
It hardly seems equitable to make unvaccinated employees use their sick leave if they catch COVID, while allowing the vaccinated employees to slide on the requirement. A doctor may have told the employee not to get the vaccination. The employee could be pregnant or trying to get pregnant. What ever the reason, why give special treatment to vaccinated employees?
The concerning part of the memo is having the supervisor mark the TimeClock+ “school business” if the vaccinated employee is not working because he or she is sick with COVID or is home taking care of a child who is sick with COVID. Certain questions need to be answered.
How many hours were used for “school business” by vaccinated employees? How many “school business” hours were used by employees while at home taking care of sick children? Is it legal to use taxpayer money to pay PUSD employees for “school business” when they are not working? What is the monetary equivalent of these “school business” hours? Perhaps there is a reasonable explanation. The Director of Human Resources, Clark Tenney, should let us know.

Read your editorial, but I did not see any fraud…help me out..who walked away with money?
If you worked in a private business and you wrote on your time card that you were on “company business when you were at home sick, so that you wouldn’t have to use your sick time, that would be a fraud and if the company found out, you would be fired or disciplined. A supervisor who knowingly approved the time card would face the same punishment. How is that any different than what PUSD did? We, the taxpayers are the ultimate bosses. This may or may not be a fraud, but we need an explanation from the PUSD HR director.
Fraud includes deception, there was no deception here. Everything was done in the open. If you are convinced there is fraud here, take it the YCSO and file a complaint.
interesting. Vote wisely
This may not be fraud in the sense that this taxpayer funded institution may legally have leeway to set policy with regard to sick leave practices. But that doesn’t make it right.
A real business that has to turn a profit in order to meet payroll may not be so generous with their sick leave policy. This type of uber generous policy should certainly provoke outrage by the taxpayers who live in the real world and have to follow more stringent sick leave rules.
Public institutions will tend to work for themselves rather than the taxpayers if left to their own devices. These public institutions should be held accountable to the taxpayers but often this is not the case. It is easy for these government entities to serve themselves rather than the taxpayers who pay their salaries when no one is looking. The solution to abuses by government institutions is oversight by the taxpayers (as Buz is doing with this article) followed by corrective and/or disciplinary action when necessary. The main reason that government entities become corrupt is indifference by the public and a lack of resolve to implement corrective actions.
We must remember no government or government agency has any money to do anything; until or unless it takes it from you and me in the form of taxes or fees. You may have seen where the city-county of San Francisco paid off its 2 Billion plus deficit with COVID Relief money. Over 3 trillion was spent by both the Trump and Biden administrations on this falsified premise. So, the next time you see where the governor gave a grant to some group; think “you paid for that”. In all cases we should keep track of those we vote for and watch how they perform. After all, you are paying the freight.
It’s great to see Kari Lake making it crystal clear that if she’s elected, she’ll stamp out CRT, cross-gender curriculum and other filth from Arizona schools.
And, with luck, she’ll investigate possible fraud or corruptions with scamdemic COVID-1984 money allocated to schools, determine if any crimes were committed and KA-BAM, send all convicted criminals to jail.
She also supports ESA and other mechanisms to get public school administrators to SERVE THEIR CUSTOMERS. You know, good teachers, students and the taxpayer?
It’s likely there are many public school administrators across America that are not sleeping well these days. Too bad.
If Kari Lake wins the governorship, she can not investigate schools, or anything else, using state resources. The Attorney General’s office chooses who or what to investigate, and then does the investigating. The governor should never discuss cases with the AG’s office, that would be corruption. The AG’s office can not start an investigation without evidence, seeing as how there appears to be no evidence, there should be no investigation. If evidence appears, then the AG can decide whether or not to investigate.
