“If we are to guard against ignorance and remain free, it is the responsibility of every American to be informed” – Thomas Jefferson
A couple of years ago I asked a lifelong friend of mine, who is a Democrat, if he ever watched Fox News. He looked at me aghast, and answered, “No! That’s nothing but propaganda.” That answer would lead most people to think that he most probably watches CNN, MSNBC, PBS, or network news. I wanted to ask my buddy if he came to his conclusion by actually watching Fox News and comparing it to other news sources, or if he just kept hearing that Fox News was propaganda from the news programs he watched or newspapers he read. For some reason I didn’t ask that question.
The problem with getting information from only one side of our political spectrum is that one doesn’t get the whole truth by getting just one perspective. Only by getting both, (or every) side of an issue, can we come to the truth or at least decide which is the most logical, practical or best solution.
That goes for conservatives, too. We need to watch those left wing news shows and read the progressive websites and papers so we will know what real propaganda they are spouting or what, if any, truth they are posting.
For half a decade now, the leftist media has been pushing the Steele dossier as the truth. The globalist bureaucrats in our federal law enforcement used what they knew to be fabricated information from the DNC opposition research, to get illegal warrants to spy on Trump supporters. Have any of the liberal network or cable news outlets ever retracted or apologized for promoting this discredited dossier?
This dossier farce would be bad enough if that was the only thing they misrepresented. Don’t forget Ferguson, MO and the “hands up, don’t shoot” spin on what turned out to be a justified police shooting. In fact, just about any police action that is videoed, will be considered some form of police brutality or racism by the corporate press. The video will be shown ad naseum. If it later turns out that the law enforcement action was justified, it might be mentioned and dropped or not even referenced at all. No apology or any attempt to lessen the emotions in some of the public that they have inflamed.
The corporations that own these biased, so-called news organizations, may be motivated by money, (if it bleeds, it leads), with these divisive, sensationalist stories, but ideology seems to be what really propels their misinformation. All of the riots that took place in our major cities in 2020, were described in these progressive news outlets as “mostly peaceful demonstrations”. At least 25 people were killed by rioters emboldened by the press. Millions of dollars of private and public property was destroyed. In contrast, only one person was killed during the January 6, 2021 riot at the Capital, and that was one of the protesters. Yet, these corporate news hacks and leading Democrats claim that this was an “armed insurrection that threatened our democracy.”
At least the conservative news media (Tucker Carlson, in particular) and internet outlets show the hypocrisy of the leftist media. They show film clips of Don Lemon, Rachel Maddow, Chris Cuomo and others when they made statements that are later discredited. Remember how they castigated and reviled the kid from Covington Catholic who smiled when the Native American was banging the drum in his face? Later, the whole video showed what really happened.
Before the 2020 election, all of the corporate press declared that Hunter Biden’s incriminating laptop emails were “Russian propaganda.” It turned out to show that both Hunter and Joe were, at the very least, guilty of highly unethical conduct, if not crimes and treasonous business practices. Then the left wing press made a saint out of Jussie Smollet as the victim of a hate crime that he orchestrated against himself. The point is that one must keep informed. Everyone needs to look at all sides of every important issue and seek the truth. As Thomas Jefferson said, it is our responsibility to be informed.

Buz is right on. Reminds me of an old political joke. “Don’t confuse me with your facts; my mind is made up”. Most Americans are no longer week old kittens. The eyes are open now.
