Governor’s Office Awards $950,000 to Prevent Delinquency & Reduce Recidivism in Arizona Juveniles

The Governor’s Office of Youth, Faith and Family (GOYFF) has awarded approximately $950,000 in grant funding to 10 organizations working to prevent juvenile delinquency and reduce rates of recidivism in juveniles.

“Arizona is committed to supporting ongoing efforts to prevent juvenile delinquency and reduce juvenile recidivism,” said Director Maria Cristina Fuentes. “I look forward to seeing the impact of this funding as we expand efforts to improve outcomes for at-risk youth statewide.”

The Arizona Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Title II Formula Grant (Title II) is funded by the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP). Grant funding will be used to address the needs of at-risk and delinquent youth and to increase public safety in communities across Arizona. During the grant cycle, awardees from urban and rural communities are encouraged to support and implement comprehensive, community-based programming to improve outcomes for the state’s at-risk and delinquent youth, and their families.

  • notMYkid, Inc.
  • Pima County Juvenile Court Center
  • Portable Practical Educational Preparation, Inc.
  • Youth Advocate Programs (YAP), Inc.

The Arizona Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Title II Grant is authorized under federal funds through the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Title II Formula Grant and administered by the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP). By statue, the awards are disbursed as follows: tribal communities, local units of government, and non-profit organizations.
