Tom Horne, Candidate for Superintendent of Public Instruction, to Speak at Conservative Gathering

The local chapter of Yavapai County’s Conservatives for a Constitutional Republic (ConCR)  has announced that Tom Horne, former Arizona Attorney General and current candidate for State Superintendent of Public Instruction,  will speak at their monthly meeting this Saturday, April 23rd,  in Chino Valley.  Other speakers include Abe Hamadeh, candidate for Attorney General, and LD1 Senate Candidate Steve Zipperman.  The meeting is free and  open to the public but seating is limited.  Those wishing to attend are asked to RSVP to concr2018@gmail.com.

Tom Horne is widely considered one of the most distinguished public servants in the history of our state.  From 2012 to 2016 he served as Arizona’s 25th Attorney General.  He personally represented Arizona before the US Supreme Court on a number of occasions,  including the defense of Arizona’s landmark immigration law, SB1070,  key portions of which were upheld and are in force today.

Horne began his career in public service with his election to the Paradise Valley School Board, where he served for 24 years.  From 1997 to 2001 he served in the Arizona House of Representatives. In 2003 he was elected Superintendent of Public Instruction where he served two terms and presided over a dramatic expansion in Arizona’s school choice program.

The centerpiece of his campaign for Arizona’s top education post is his opposition to Critical Race Theory.  He is also an advocate for higher academic standards and a stronger voice for parents in the education of their children.

Abe Hamadeh,  candidate for Arizona Attorney General, is making his first run for political office.  He is an intelligence officer with the Army Reserve who was recently deployed to the Middle East.  Mr. Hamadeh is also a former prosecutor with the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.  He holds a bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University in Political Science,  and a Juris Doctor from the University of Arizona College of Law.   He has served on the Board of Advisors for the Center for Politics and Political Thought and Leadership,  a conservative leaning  think tank at Arizona State University.

Steve Zipperman is a well-known political activist in Yavapai County.  He has served as First Vice Chair of the Yavapai County Republican Party.  He has worked to elect conservative candidates at the state and local level.   His professional background is as an attorney and real estate broker in California before retiring to the Prescott area.  He is now making his first run for political office as a candidate for the LD1 State Senate seat being vacated by Karen Fann.

The Yavapai County chapter of Conservatives for a Constitutional Republic is a group of conservative activists dedicated to defending and promoting the values of representative government as set forth in the United States Constitution.   They are a private organization and not directly affiliated with a political party,  However,  most members are registered Republicans or conservative leaning Independents who are civically engaged or are current or former elected officials or candidates for office.

During this election year,  President Dutton has scheduled candidates for all top level state and national officers to address the group.

ConCR meets monthly at the Bible Baptist Church, 3490 N. State Road 89,  in Chino Valley.  Recent speakers include Arizona GOP Chari Kelli Ward,  Congressmen Paul Gosar and Andy Biggs, State Senator Wendy Rogers,  and many other prominent conservative figures and candidates for office.

ConCR is a membership organization. However,  in the interest of informing voters about important issues and candidates,  the appearances of guest speakers of high public interest are open to the public.  All those wishing to meet the candidates and learn about their positions on the issues of interest to conservative voters are cordially invited to attend.  Time has been reserved for a brief Q & A following the candidate presentations.  Doors open at 10:45 am.  The meeting will begin promptly at 11:15 am. RSVPs are requested and should be addressed to concr2018@gmail.com.
