Quarterback Rylee Hart led the Badgers by completing 31 of 39 passes for 318 yards with 7 touchdown passes to five different receivers, that left no doubt that the Badgers (6-3) are back running on all cylinders and are in the hunt for a playoff run. Hart said, “This feels really good in how we were able to play tonight. This has kind of been a rebuilding season but tonight it felt like we are back to our old selves and it is so awesome to honor our seniors with a big rivalry win.”

As well as the offense performed the defense was equally impressive making life miserable for Bears quarterback Morgan Gosik who had to scramble many times as she struggled to find time to throw the ball. Gosik was able to complete four of eight for 56 yards but had a pair of interceptions. Gosik rushed for all 41 yards that Bradshaw Mountain had. Bridgett RoseBond took some second half snaps and was five out of seven for 43 yards and two interceptions as well.

In the second quarter, two more Badger touchdowns from Hart to Brandon for her second and Abigail Christoph caught her first on a 28 yard pass play with two minutes remaining in the half after an interception by Terelak-Foster.

Terelak-Foster picked off her second pass, but Prescott returned the favor when a Kaylin Pinarelli pass was picked off by Melanie Carranza. The Bears were able to move the ball into badger territory for the first time in the final seconds of the first half to the Prescott 30 as time expired.

Leading 28-0 to start the second half, Prescott went on a 12 play 86 yard scoring drive to start the second half ending with a 6 yard TD pass from Hart to Pinarelli for a 35-0 lead midway through the third.

The Bears went three and out and Prescott added to their lead when Isabella Ramos went up high to pull down the Hart pass to lead 42-0 a minute into the final quarter.

Larson picked off her second pass of the night on the very first play of the Bears next possession, returning to inside the 20. Three plays later Terelak-Foster threw her touchdown pass to a diving Christoph to make it 49-0.

Bradshaw Mountain had only run four second half plays and was able to get the offense some work moving the ball into Prescott territory to the Badger 40 before turning the ball over on downs.

The Badgers added one score for the explanation point when Hart threw a short pass out to the sideline where Christoff caught it and motored her way down the sideline 56 yards for the touchdown. About her last catch, Christoff said, “At first I thought she was going to get me but I was able to get around her. Then I thought the other one was going to catch me but they didn’t.”

About playing in her first rivalry game, “Pretty exciting but stressful. Playing varsity is definitely a challenge, but I like a challenge.” Brandon was a perfect six for six, but just missed her only extra point attempt of the night leaving the score at 55-0 with 1:23 remaining.

The Bears gave it one last attempt to score and moved the ball with both Gosik and RoseBond completing passes into Badger territory to the 33 yard line as the final seconds ticked off.

Lucy Zembik. who was a thorn in the Bears offensive paw all night, said “Morgan is a great player, she worked her butt off. Coming in we knew if we could shut down their offense it was game over. Our defense was really locked in tonight and I knew what my job was and I knew she was not going to get many yards off of me. I didn’t want her to get any yards off of us.” About the Coconino loss, Zembik added, “I think that was the punch in the mouth we needed. That was our wake up call.”

Prescott coach Ryan Hart said,” We had really good energy and we built on it and now the girls are believing in themselves. We bounced back after the loss a couple weeks back and tweaked a couple things that are working out for us. The goal was to come out early, jump on top, bring the energy which we did and maintain a high level throughout and we did exactly that tonight. Bradshaw is always scrappy and so I emphasized early that we had to come out strong.”

After being shut out for the first time in program history versus Coconino, Prescott has outscored their opponents 90-3 in the last two games.

Prescott is now (1-2) in the Grand Canyon Region and will host Mohave on Monday at 5pm.Two more games follow one at home versus Lee Williams on Wednesday and the road makeup game at Flagstaff on Thursday. Bradshaw Mountain ends their regular season at (2-4) and (5-8).
