The City of Prescott and their project team are hosting a community meeting on Monday, November 9, between 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. at The Center (1280 E Rosser Street) to highlight the 60% design plans for the Effluent & Wastewater Pipelines & State Route (SR) 89 Improvements Project. The meeting will be an open-house format with no formal presentation. Stop by anytime between 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to view the design plans and talk with the project team. If you can’t make the meeting in-person, project information and meeting materials will be available on the SR 89 Improvements Project Webpage at www.sr89improvements.com and the Virtual Meeting Room.
Project improvements being designed include a new effluent pipeline that will be installed from Kieckhefer Ranch to Willow Lake Road to replace the existing, deteriorated effluent line. A new sewer pipeline will be installed from Kieckhefer Ranch to Lillian Lane. The new sewer pipeline will increase the capacity to convey wastewater to the Airport Water Reclamation Facility. This new sewer pipeline will be installed in the current effluent pipeline trench, and the existing effluent pipeline will be removed as part of this project. Roadway improvements will be made along SR 89 to improve safety, traffic flow and access to adjacent properties. The scope of work includes rock removal to improve sight visibility, consolidating driveways, intersection and grade improvements, turning restrictions and turn lanes at some intersections. The project will also realign the southbound approach to the Willow Lake Road roundabout, add a north-to-south turnaround north of Twisted Trail, extend the southbound merge lane south of the Phippen Trail roundabout and construct a frontage road along the northbound lanes north of the Willow Lake Road roundabout.
