The Prescott Regional Airport will be conducting a full-scale Airport Emergency Plan exercise in coordination with Prescott Fire Department, Prescott Police Department, local mutual aid and secondary response agencies on October 12, 2026. Due to the nature of the exercise, the exact time of the exercise will not be released.
The purpose of the exercise is:
- To comply with airport certification requirements associated with commercial air carrier service under 14 CRF Part 139.
- To provide necessary hands-on training for primary and secondary emergency responders and medical providers.
- Evaluate emergency response procedures, communications, equipment, and coordination among participating agencies while identifying opportunities to improve the Airport Emergency Plan.
This exercise will entail a simulated aircraft accident involving multiple casualties. The scenario will involve the rescue, treatment, and transportation of victims through the coordinated efforts of multiple emergency response agencies.
Residents may notice an increased presence of emergency vehicles and personnel in and around the airport during the exercise. This is a planned training event, and there is no threat to the public. Passenger terminal operations and public access to the terminal will not be affected.
Due to safety and security concerns, attendance is restricted.
