Prescott Man Arrested on Charges of Burglary, Trespassing, and Resisting Arrest – Prescott Police Department

On September 18, 2026, at approximately 12:08 a.m., Prescott Police Department officers responded to a report of a possible burglary in progress at the YMCA located at 750 Whipple Street. A security officer from the Yavapai Regional Medical Center had been watching a male subject on their security camera system who was acting suspicious. The security officer watched as the male subject walked onto the YMCA property, climbed a fenced area and entered the building through a door.

Officers arrived and established a perimeter around the building.  Verbal announcements were made from outside the building but received no response.  Officers then entered the building and conducted an interior search.  A Prescott Police Department canine unit was deployed to assist in searching the building. During the search, the police canine alerted on a door to a supply closet. Officers issued multiple commands for anyone to exit, warning that the police canine was present. When no response was received, the door was opened at which time the canine contacted a subject who was hiding in the closet. The male subject attempted to resist arrest by holding the door shut and physically pulling away from the officers. Officers were ultimately able to gain control of the subject and take him into custody.

The suspect was identified as 34-year-old Marques Antonio Marino.  Marino was booked into the Yavapai County Prescott Jail on charges of Burglary, Trespassing and Resisting Arrest.
