Yavapai County Community Health Services Invites Community to Attend Free Alzheimer’s & Dementia Training

Yavapai County Community Health Services (YCCHS) in partnership with the Colorado Plateau Center for Health Professions and Dignity Health, Yavapai Regional Medical Center (YRMC), invites you to attend “Alzheimer’s and Dementia in Practice: Bridging the Gap Between Diagnosis and Treatment”.

Attendees will hear directly from featured speakers such as Dr. Sam Downing, (Dignity Health YRMC), Dr. Lolita Tramel (Hearts for Dementia), and Dr. Sara Geisinger (Barrow Neurological Institute). CME/CE credits are available for attending professionals (CMEs and CEs are available through the American Academy of Family Physicians and National Association of Social Workers).

Whether you are supporting a loved one, navigating a recent diagnosis, or working directly in patient care, understanding Alzheimer’s and dementia can feel overwhelming. These community events will bring together local medical leaders to share expert guidance, practical caregiver resources, key early warning signs, and the latest options in treatment and care.

The events will take place at the following locations and dates:

  • Cottonwood: Friday, September 11, 2026 | 2:00 PM-5:00 PM (Networking at 5:00PM)

Location: The Lux, 301 AZ-89A, Cottonwood, AZ

  • Prescott: Saturday, September 12, 2026 | 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM (Networking at 12:00PM)

Location: Hassayampa Inn, 122 E, Gurley Street, Prescott AZ
