On August 2, 2026, Prescott Valley Police responded to a report of a vehicle versus pedestrian collision on State Route 69 and Prescott East Highway.
Upon arrival, officers located an adult pedestrian who had sustained serious injuries. The pedestrian was treated at the scene by fire and medical personnel. Unfortunately, despite their efforts, the pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The initial investigation indicates the pedestrian was crossing the roadway at a location where they did not have the right of way when they were struck by a vehicle traveling through the area. The driver remained at the scene, cooperated with officers, and showed no signs of impairment. Speed does not appear to be a factor at this time. The road was temporarily closed while officers conducted their investigation and cleared the scene. It has since reopened to traffic.
We extend our deepest sympathies to the family and loved ones of the individuals involved in this tragic accident. The Prescott Valley Police Department recognizes the profound impact tragedies like this have on families, loved ones, first responders, and our community. We encourage everyone who travels on our roadways to remain attentive, follow traffic laws, and make safety a priority every time they drive or walk.
