NOTICE OF TAX INCREASE
In Compliance with Section 42-17107, Arizona Revised Statutes, The City of Prescott is notifying its Property Taxpayers of the City of Prescott’s intention to raise its primary property taxes over last year’s level. The City of Prescott is proposing an increase in primary property taxes of $141,148 or 6.12%.
For example, the proposed tax increase will cause the City of Prescott’s primary property taxes on a $100,000 home to increase from $22.37 (total taxes that would be owed without the proposed tax increase) to $23.74 (total proposed taxes including the tax increase).
This proposed increase is exclusive of increased primary property taxes received from new construction. The increase is also exclusive of any changes that may occur from property tax levies for voter approved bonded indebtedness or budget and tax overrides.
All interested citizens are invited to attend the public hearing on the tax increase that is scheduled to be held Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at 3:00pm at City Hall Council Chambers, 201 North Montezuma Street, Prescott, Arizona.

Government has no money until it takes it from us in the form of taxes or fees. There is far less pressure for government to cut back on spending as all government has no competition.
What about privatizing trash pickup? I pay $51 for 3 months of service. I’ll bet Prescott’s service costs twice that with all government employees. Start there.
The City of Prescott has become money hungry. Everything is to make money, new hotels, new motels, apartment houses galore, thousands and thousands of new homes destroying our once beautiful landscape, restaurants, food carts, vendors piled up down town taking away the residents beautiful Square, and enormous congestion. All of this so the City and County can make more money, and now they though of yet another way, raise our property taxes. So sad that Prescott is no more.
