The Prescott Farmers Market (PFM) welcomes customers for its 29th summer season on Saturday, April 4. The market will be open every Saturday from 7:30am to noon at 900 Iron Springs Road at the Dignity Health-YRMC overflow parking lot.
The market is a vibrant hub for the community, where farmers, artisans, and residents come together to celebrate and support local agriculture and small businesses. The market’s tagline is “See your neighbors. Meet your farmers. Know your food.”
Prescott Farmers Market operates a year-round, producer-only farmers market, meaning every item sold is either grown or produced by the seller featuring Arizona-grown ingredients. The majority of products come from farmers, ranchers and food makers in Yavapai County. From more than 60 vendors, customers can find fresh vegetables, grass-fed beef, eggs, poultry, seafood, baked goods, honey, coffee, and kombucha.
Vendors also offer a variety of prepared foods “to go” such as cinnamon rolls, bagels, donuts, croissants, quiche slices, breakfast sandwiches, grain & protein bowls, sandwiches, smash burgers, mini pancakes, tamales, burritos, tacos, Portuguese sandwiches, samosas, Lebanese cuisine, Korean BBQ, and much more.. Personal care products like goat milk soap, lotions, salves, and sprays are available, and local crafters attend each week. During May, farmers have plant starts for sale including herbs, tomatoes, peppers, squash, and eggplant varieties that grow well in Yavapai County’s climate.
New this year, PFM is launching Market Food Tours, guided walking tours where participants will meet vendors and eat their way through the market. Tours will be open to the public beginning in May.
Kathleen Yetman has served as PFM’s executive director for 12 years. “I started coming to the market as a customer long before I took this role. Now I see firsthand how these relationships between neighbors and farmers strengthen our whole community. My family looks forward to it every single week.”
PFM regularly hosts free special events, including a Cookbook Exchange on April 11, a Seed and Planter Exchange on May 2, a Mother’s Day Photo Booth on May 9, and a Flower and Vegetable Dye Workshop on June 27. All PFM events, including a vendor roster for each market day (subject to change), are listed on the online event calendar.
PFM also serves as the collection site for the Prescott Community Compost Program, where community members can deposit fruit and vegetable kitchen scraps to be composted.
Customers can swipe their debit, credit or SNAP/EBT cards to receive tokens at the Information Booth. The Double Up Food Bucks Arizona program allows customers to double their SNAP benefits at the market for fresh fruits and vegetables and garden starts. All vendors accept cash.
PFM is an approved market for the Arizona Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP), which provides eligible low-income seniors and WIC households with coupons for Arizona-grown produce. This year, participants must apply online or by mail before visiting the market. Visit www.azfmnp.org or call 833-836-8253 ext. 4 to get started.
Pets are not allowed at the market. ADA service animals specifically trained to aid a person with a disability are welcome.
As a vital part of the economy, the mission of Prescott Farmers Market is to support and expand local agriculture, cultivate a healthy community and increase access to affordable local food.
PFM is a 501(c)(3) organization and a Qualifying Charitable Organization registered with the AZ State Tax Credit Program.
