Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University will welcome Arizona native and longtime aviator Jim Anderson for an upcoming Aviation History Speaker Presentation highlighting nearly seven decades of flight.

The presentation, free and open to the public, will take place Thursday, March 12, 2026, from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Davis Learning Center Auditorium at Embry-Riddle’s Prescott Campus. Community members are invited to attend and hear a firsthand account of a lifetime devoted to aviation.

Raised in a family of aviators dating back to the 1930s, Anderson has logged more than 18,000 flight hours in aircraft ranging from a 780-pound single-seat airplane to the right seat of a 300,000-pound DC-8 Super 62. His flying has taken him across North America and into the Caribbean and Central America. Throughout his career, he has emphasized that the true rewards of aviation are not just the aircraft, but the people and experiences encountered along the way.

Anderson has mentored more than 200 Young Eagles through the Experimental Aircraft Association and has served as a volunteer VIP tour guide at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh. His presentation will celebrate flight, mentorship and the enduring spirit of general aviation.
