Another year has flown by and it is time once again to move on to a new year with the 15th annual Boot Drop in downtown Prescott.
The event will be taking place on Wednesday evening, December 31 beginning at 7pm on Whiskey Row with the six-foot tall illuminated boot being lowered from a 40-foot flagpole on top of The Palace at both 10pm and Midnight, followed immediately with fireworks. Why 10pm? It is not only for those who wish to call it a night early, but it is to coincide with the New York City Times Square Ball drop.

The street in front of Whiskey Row once again will be blocked off so those wishing to celebrate will have plenty of room to do so.
The event started in 2011 and has grown more and more popular each year. People gather in the street and the courthouse square together with family and friends to enjoy the festive atmosphere.
Returning for their second year to the event will be the band The Instant Classics, with a mix of music ranging from R&B, funk, soul, classic and rock. The band will get the party started around 7:30pm.
The bars and restaurants will be open, plus there will be carnival games and rides, along with food truck vendors and some giveaways.
Parking will be free around the downtown area but can fill up quickly as the evening progresses, so show up early for the closest spots.
The weather forecast at the moment calls for a 30% chance of rain showers throughout the evening and temperatures in the mid-40s with a very slight breeze. Good enough for the event to proceed to ring in 2026.
