The Prescott Badgers broke open a tied game in the second half by scoring three touchdowns on their way to a 28-14 win over the ALA-Gilbert North Eagles at Prescott High School.

Both teams used long time consuming drives to score their touchdowns in the first half with the Badgers striking first.

Maggie Maneely pulled in a pass from Rianna Aguilar for the first touchdown. Mallory Walsh added the PAT.

The Eagles tied the game less than a minute into the second quarter when Maci Hansen caught a short pass from quarterback Karissa Behnke. India Dean added the extra point for the equalizer.

Both teams had their moments of moving the ball, but the score remained tied at seven at halftime. Then the rain came and it got a little sloppy at times, but the Badger offense came alive.

The Prescott defense came out and forced the Eagles to punt right away, setting up the offense at the ALA 25 yard line.

The dual threat Aguilar kept the Eagles off balance and scored on a 25 yard run giving the Badgers a 14-7 lead with 8:30 left in the third quarter.

In the second quarter, Gavin Moran busted through the center of the line as he went 30 yards for the score and a 10-0 lead. That would be it for the scoring as Coconino defense was stellar, stopping the Bears offense in all five of their possessions.
