FLAG FOOTBALL
The Prescott Badgers will begin the task this week of finishing their goal from a year ago. That is to win a flag football state title. Last season the Badgers came up short in a last minute 10-7 loss in the championship to St. Mary’s.
The Badgers first round opponent will be the ALA-Queen Creek Patriots. They come in with a (5-7) record after closing out the regular season with a 6-3 win over St. Mary’s. The Patriots dropped their first three games to start the season and were shutout in five of their seven losses. ALA-Queen Creek came back to close out the regular season with two wins.
Prescott is ready to go and would have two more home playoff games before the championship at Corona Del Sol High School in Tempe.
Meanwhile #14 Bradshaw Mountain made the playoffs with a (6-6) record and earned a trip to face region foe #3 Mingus (12-1).
Two other Grand Canyon Region teams made the playoffs. They are #10 Coconino (9-4) and #12 Lee Williams (6-5).
First round games are Wednesday at 6pm.
