Granite Mountain Interagency Hotshots Crew Tribute and Learning Center to Host Fireside Chat Program

The Granite Mountain Interagency Hotshot Crew Learning and Tribute Center will host the next installment of their educational series, Fireside Chat, on Tuesday August 19 at 3:30 pm at the Center.  The featured guest speaker will be Conrad Jackson, Wildland Fire Risk Manager for Prescott Fire Department. He will speak about wildfire and wildfire prevention in our community. This is a free event, and citizens are welcome to come and learn more about fire prevention strategies.

Topic:
What’s happening with wildfires & the treatments to prevent wildfires in your community today and much more. One spark can change everything. Join us for an exclusive “Fireside Chat” where we’ll discuss what some of the future planned fuels treatments are and of course how we can be better stewards of our lands both private & public.

Featured Speaker:
Conrad Jackson, Wildfire Risk Manager for the Prescott Fire Department. Conrad has been a
resident of Prescott for over 40 years  and has 30 years of wildland firefighting experience — 10
years with the Forest Service and 20 years on Prescott Fire Department’s Off-District Wildland
Team. He holds bachelor’s degrees in both Secondary Education and Biology.

“We are excited to offer this event,” said Center Board Chair John Marsh. “Preparing your
homes and property can help save your property and those around you in the event of a
wildland fire. It can also make the firefighters jobs easier, and help lower fire insurance costs.”
