Thursday, Rep. Eli Crane (R-AZ) introduced the Defund the National Endowment for Democracy Act of 2025, which would prohibit taxpayer funds from being allocated to the private institution.
Established in 1983, the National Endowment for Democracy was founded with the stated mission of promoting democracy abroad.
However, the organization quickly evolved into a key contributor to global censorship campaigns, domestic propaganda, and regime change politics.
This legislation would prevent taxpayer dollars from fueling these activities that oppose the U.S. Constitution and American values.

“I’m proud to introduce this sensible measure to ensure that American resources are no longer used to support this organization’s anti-American objectives. Hardworking citizens should not be forced to foot the bill for anything that undermines freedom of speech and liberty,” said Rep. Eli Crane. “The National Endowment for Democracy has strayed far from its original mission. We owe it to the American people to protect their interests and put an end to this disgusting waste of their money.”

I don’t expect many Democrats to approve of this. Why? Well, they approve of government programs more on an emotional or trust level. Conservatives tend to question the motives around a new program and a successful big business president Trump and Eli Crane fits into that same mold.
The Communists who came to America in the 1920-30 period began infiltrating labor unions, government and our colleges and universities first. Now, I believe they control the leadership of the Democrat Party as well as the Democrat-socialist caucus who controls all Democrats in congress.
Lets see if Congressman Cranes bill passes the house and later the senate. A follow up would show the true colors of our congress.
