Conservatives For A Constitutional Republic to Host Arizona Senate President Warren Peterson – Update

The local chapter of Yavapai County’s Conservatives for a Constitutional Republic (ConCR) has announced that it will host Arizona Senate President Warren Peterson at their next meeting, Saturday, May 24th, in Chino Valley.  Mr. Peterson, an attorney and former Chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, is one of two announced Republican candidates for Arizona Attorney General. He joins Phoenix Attorney, Rodney Glassman, in the effort to unseat Arizona’s current Attorney General, Kris Mayes, a Democrat,  in  the 2026 election.

Mr. Peterson was first elected to the Arizona Legislature in 2012, representing LD12, which encompasses the Gilbert and Queen Creek areas of the state southeast of Phoenix. In 2016, following then Senate President  Andy Biggs’ decision to run for Congress, Mr. Peterson was elected to the State Senate.   In 2018 he returned to the House of Representatives where he served as the Republican Majority Leader under Speaker Ben Toma. Since Arizona’s redistricting in 2020, Mr. Peterson has represented LD14 in the State Senate where he was elected President in 2022.

In his twelve year career in legislative office, Mr. Peterson has won recognition as an award winning conservative. In previous elections he has been  endorsed by the Arizona Free Enterprise Club, the Goldwater Institute, and the Center for Arizona Policy.  As Senate President, he has been an outspoken critic of Governor Hobbs and other members of Arizona’s Democratic leadership, particularly Attorney General Kris Mayes, for their resistance to Republican legislation addressing voter registration and election integrity issues and President Trump’s border security measures.  He has recently been endorsed by conservative stalwart,  Arizona State Senator Wendy Rogers.

Senator Peterson’s May 24th  talk before the Conservatives for a Constitutional Republic marks his first major appearance in the Quad City area that is open to the public since announcing his candidacy for Arizona Attorney General.   Among the issues he is expected to address will be the status of current legislation impacting rural Arizona including water management, transportation, and border security.

In addition to Senate President  Peterson, all three members of LD1’s legislative delegation, Sen. Mark Finchem,  Rep. Quang Nguyen, and Rep. Selina Bliss, will be present to offer an update on their bills and other pending legislation impacting the District. The State Legislature recently took a week off to allow leadership to work with the Governor’s Office on budget negotiations. As of this writing, a final budget has not yet been agreed upon by  Arizona’s Democrat Governor and the Republican legislature. Hopefully, Sen. Peterson and our LD1 delegation will offer an update on the status of current negotiations.

The Yavapai County Chapter of Conservatives for a Constitutional Republic is a group of conservative activists dedicated to defending and promoting the values of representative government as set forth in the United States Constitution. They are a private organization and not directly affiliated with a political party. However, most members are registered Republicans or conservative leaning Independents who are civically engaged or are current or former elected officials or candidates for office.

ConCR meets monthly at the Bible Baptist Church, 3490 N. State Road 89, in Chino Valley. Recent speakers include CD2 Cong. Eli Crane, LD1 State Representatives Selina Bliss and Quang Nguyen,  Sheriff David Rhodes,  County Supervisor Chris Kuknyo and many other prominent conservative figures and candidates for office.

ConCR is a membership organization. However, in the interest of informing voters about important issues and candidates, the appearances of guest speakers of high public interest are open to the public.  All those wishing to meet Senate President Warren Peterson and learn about current legislative and legal issues facing our state are cordially invited to attend. Time  permitting, Sen. Peterson will stand for questions from the audience.

Doors open at 10:30AM. The meeting will begin promptly at 11:15AM. RSVPs are requested and should be addressed to concr2018@gmail.com.
