Prescott Fire Department Mourns the Loss of Recruit Firefighter

It is with profound sadness that the Prescott Fire Department shares the passing of Recruit Firefighter Dylan Wallace who was killed in a tragic off-duty incident on Friday, May 16, 2025.

“We extend our deepest sympathies to Dylan’s family, friends, fellow recruits, and all whose lives he touched and who cared for him,” said Fire Chief Holger Durre. “This is a deeply painful time for many, and our thoughts are with all those affected by this loss.”

Dylan was a member in the Prescott/Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority Joint Fire Academy as a recruit firefighter and was expected to graduate with his peers in June of this year.

We ask the media to respect the family’s privacy at this time.

  1. We all need to pray for Dylan Wallace and all of the wonderful firefighters who are there when we need them and they keep us safe. Prescott has the best fire and police department in the world. Thanks to all of you!!

  2. For anyone who is interested in attending Dylan’s funeral, I found this in another newspaper and I am pasting it into this post.

“Dylan’s life will be celebrated on May 23rd at 11 a.m. at Lifepointe Church in Prescott Valley. Friends and family are invited to share memories and honor his legacy. We ask you to arrive in bright Dylan inspired attire. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Prescott Fire Charities, reflecting Dylan’s compassionate nature and desire to serve his community”.
