CAFMA Responds to Wildland Fire Involving Paraglider Fatality in Prescott Valley

At approximately 7:45 a.m. on Friday, May 16, Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority (CAFMA) responded to reports of a wildland fire near Lakeshore Drive and Fain Road in Prescott Valley. As additional information was received, the call was upgraded to include a paraglider involved in the incident.

Upon arrival, crews found the fire had been contained to a small area and was no longer spreading. The fire was quickly extinguished.

Tragically, one patient was found deceased at the scene. The area was secured and turned over to the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO) for investigation.

CAFMA extends its sincere appreciation to Copperstate Ambulance, Native Air, Prescott Regional Communications Center, Prescott Valley Police Department, and YCSO for their professionalism and support.
