On April 2, 2025, Prescott Valley Police arrested a man who had previously fled from officers during a traffic stop on a motorcycle earlier in the week. A simple traffic stop for not having a license plate quickly turned into a dangerous situation for everyone. When officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the motorcyclist fled at speeds over 75 mph in a residential area. The motorcyclist’s behavior was so dangerous that the officer immediately stopped the pursuit. Officers were able to identify the motorcycle rider and arrested him without any further risk to the community. The rider was booked into Yavapai County jail on numerous traffic-related charges and his motorcycle was impounded.
Since the first of the year, Prescott Valley Police Department has seen a large increase in criminal traffic-related arrests. Officers have made 36 arrests for Excessive Speed,16 arrests for Reckless Driving, and 2 arrests for Aggressive Driving.
The Prescott Valley Police Department urges all drivers to adjust their speed to road conditions, respect speed limits, and prioritize safety. Speeding is a serious threat to the safety of everyone on the road. It reduces a driver’s ability to react to hazards, increases the severity of accidents, and contributes to unnecessary injuries and fatalities. Together, we can work to make sure our roads are safe for everyone.
