For the second time in three days the Prescott Badgers dominated the Coconino Panthers in a 15-3 win in Flagstaff. The win keeps the Badgers on top of the Grand Canyon Region.
At the plate, five Badgers had multiple hit games with Adrian Sanderford having three hits including a three run blast in the top of the seventh, part of his six RBIs, to provide an exclamation point on the 15 run offensive performance. Nick Martin scattered three single and scored three times as well. Cooper Magnett, Colton Champion, and Gates each had two hits. One of the hits by Champion was a triple as the senior accounted for two RBIs.
Three Badger juniors provided the needed arms on the hill. Travis Gates picked up the win going 3.1 innings allowing no earned runs on two hits with three strikeouts. William Horn took care of the middle innings with Matt Hepperle locking the door shut in the bottom of the seventh with one strikeout.
Prescott will make the short trip to face the Bradshaw Mountain Bears in an after dark 7 pm start time. Both teams have yet to lose a region game.
The Badgers, winners of six straight, continue to tear the cover off the ball, averaging over 12 runs a game. The Bears have won three straight and have given up three runs each in their last two games.
