Saturday night the Northern Arizona Wranglers will open up the 2025 season with a lot of new faces and seven returners from the season a year ago.
Of the seven are three on the offense with offensive lineman Chris Simon and a pair of wide receivers in David Elder and Deshon Stoudemire. The defense will return four with defensive lineman Mason Newton, linebacker Kalen Hicks and a pair of defensive backs in Malik Sonnier and Lummie Young IV. Full rosters for either team have not yet been posted.
Two-time IFL Coach of the Year Ron James will lead Northern Arizona this season replacing Les Moss, who went further west, along with Offensive Coordinator Rod Windsor, to assist their former Wrangler Defensive Coordinator Rob Keefe with the Bay Area Panthers. That staff is the same one that led the Wranglers to their 2022 IFL championship.
The Wranglers will face a new team in Fishers Freight coached by former Bay Area Panthers Offensive Coordinator Dixie Wooten on Saturday night. Based in Indianapolis, they are the third arena indoor team to play in that area. Kickoff is at 6:05pm.
