2-Wheeled to 18-Wheeled – Rescues of Completely Different … Circumstances – Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office

Photo: Stuck Semi-Truck

Semi-Truck Stuck on Senator Highway — A semi-truck driver followed cell phone navigation onto the narrow dirt roads of Senator Highway, only to find himself stuck in a tight spot, literally.

Deputies and VIPs responded to assist, ensuring the truck (and the driver) were safely returned to a more suitable route. Reminder: Not all roads are meant for 18-wheelers. Always double-check your route and weather conditions before you roll! From Drake Road to Senator Highway, we’re unofficially calling this Phone Navigation Awareness Week.

Lost Mountain Biker in Sycamore Canyon — After a long day on the trails, a rider lost his way and began feeling unwell. Concerned for his safety, he called for help. Search & Rescue teams located him, provided electrolytes, and guided him safely back to their 4×4 vehicles. Fortunately, he recovered quickly and declined further medical attention. Reminder: Always carry extra water, plan your route, and let someone know your itinerary!

Stay safe, stay prepared, and when in doubt, use caution.

  1. I haven’t been on some of these roads in a while, but as a local know not to navigate them in extreme weather ( Senator, Drake, and Perkinsville Road) Maybe some warning signs could help if not already in place.
