Copper Thieves Costing Businesses Tens of Thousands of Dollars – Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office

From late December 2024 to February 2025, the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office has been investigating reports of large amounts of copper stolen from Southeastern Yavapai County.

In one case, suspect(s) breached a commercial site and stole a significant quantity of the metal. In another instance, the suspect(s) trespassed on a mine site, stole hundreds of pounds of copper wire, and left behind considerable damage, resulting in losses of 25,000 to 30,000 dollars.

If you see or know of any suspicious activity around electrical light installations on highways or at intersections, please call the Sheriff’s Office at 928-771-3260. You can also remain anonymous by contacting Silent Witness at 800-932-3232.

  1. Sounds like the Miscreants moved in from Californian. They’ve been dealing with wire theft for decades.

    All you have to do to find them is to look for the disheveled Person up at 3am in a filthy lot going around in circles. You’ll find the theft there.

    Or you can just park in front of the Scrap Buying Businesses.
