Zane Gaul had himself a good time in the paint as he dominated the Lee Williams Volunteers with 28 points 13 rebounds to lead the Prescott Badgers to a 94-44 win. Prescott still sits atop the Grand Canyon Region at (9-0) with a (17-5) overall record and in the midst of a 12 game winning streak. Prescott sits at #2 in this weeks AIA Division 4 rankings.
Zane Gaul said, “We played them last Friday and this time they got to travel here. We were a little slow at the start but got everything going. It was a fun game and it was great to see everyone get involved.”

Before the game Uriah Tenette was presented with a gold basketball commemorating his 2000 career points in a Badger uniform.
Thoughts on receiving the ball for recognition of his achievements, Tenette said, “Extremely blessed. I have been working for my all life with my dad. Thanks to him and all my coaches. Coach Stedman, coach Eric, coach Swan and coach Carman, and everybody in the Prescott program. I have been extremely blessed.”

Once again the Badger Dome crowd was entertained with the high flyin’ dunk fest that the Badgers team has become known for. Tenette, Josiah Peoples and Gaul slammed down 11 shots between them.
Prescott came out and led 6-0 three minutes into the game. The lead grew to 19-5 by the quarters end.
The second quarter, the Volunteers had a moment when they put a string of baskets together to pull within 29-18.
At that point, Prescott got rolling and they outscored Lee Williams 26-8 in the final 5:15 of the second quarter to lead 55-24 at the half.
The third quarter resembled the second as the lead grew to 78-35.

The lead continued to grow for the remainder of the game with Gaul leading the way. Josiah Peoples had another big game off the bench with 18 points. Tenette finished his night with 16 points and Cooper Magnett scored 13.
Guard Tommy Richardson, whose shot has been coming alive in recent games, said, “We took a little bit to get going, but once we did it was fun. It has been good to be able and to contribute offensively. The more of us that are able to score is just making us better as a team.”
The Badgers will travel to face Flagstaff tonight at 7 pm.
The Bradshaw Mountain Bears remained tied for third with Flagstaff in the Grand Canyon Region with a 72-56 win over the Mohave Thunderbirds in Bullhead City.
The Thunderbirds were led by Kingzten Bristol and Devin Cook who scored 21 each. Anthony Moses added 12 for Mohave that fell to (208) and (9-12). The Bears improved to (6-4) and (16-10).
The Bears will host Coconino tonight at 7pm.
The Trinity Christian Warriors nearly doubled up BASIS-Prescott with a 61-31 win to improve to (18-2) overall and a perfect (6-0) in Canyon Division 1-Fiesta Region standings.
The Warriors will host Orme tonight at 7 pm in the regular season finale.

The Lady Badgers finished off Lee Williams with a sweep over the Lady Volunteers 76-22 in Kingman.
Addy Prisciandaro and Bell Abt continue to lead team in scoring and rebounds. Prisciandaro is averaging 20 points, while Abt is averaging a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds a game.
Prescott will seek to atone for a tough 53-40 loss to the Flagstaff Lady Eagles tonight at 7 pm in the Badger Dome. Flagstaff has won 99 Grand Canyon Region games in a row since their last loss, a 50-47 setback to Coconino on January 10, 2017.
The AIA Division 4A rankings has the Lady Badgers sitting at #7, while Flagstaff is up a couple notches at #5.
Meanwhile, the Bradshaw Mountain Lady Bears handled Mohave easily 47-16 at home on senior night.
Emma Johnson led all scorers with 12 points and Kalli Smith added 9.
Bradshaw Mountain (3-7) in the GCR, and (8-12) overall, will visit Coconino tonight at 7 pm.
Trinity Christian in Prescott remained unbeaten on the season with a 48-23 win over Prescott BASIS. The Lady Warriors are now an impressive (14-0) on the season. Tonight Trinity Christian will face Orme in a 5:30pm game at home before the Arizona CCA playoffs start next week. Last year the Lady Warriors fell in the state semifinals to eventual champion Skyline Prep.
