Josiah Peoples had a career high 27 points as the 4A Division number one Prescott Badgers scored a record high in their 109-29 win over the Mohave Thunderbirds. In fact it was raining threes in Prescott as the Badgers knocked down 18 shots from downtown, another record, five alone by Peoples.
“I was feeling it tonight. Coming back after missing a couple of games, I was more than ready to go,” said Peoples. “It was great to see everybody get to play and have production tonight. It was a lot of fun out there.”
The Badgers came out literally on fire that started with a slam dunk by Uriah Tenette. Prescott scored the first ten points two minutes into the game and never looked back. Their 36 points in the first quarter was a record too.

Tenette is in a battle for the state of Arizona leading scorer again at a click 29 points a game said, “I don’t really focus on that. It is about playing better together as a team. Tonight we were all knocking down shots. We came out ready from the start and that just carried on throughout the game.”
Eight different Badgers sank three point shots as Prescott took a 64-13 lead at the half. Another huge third quarter left the Badgers one shy of the century mark, 99-21.
A bank shot by Peoples pushed the score to 101-21 eight seconds into the fourth quarter. The game ended quickly as running clock kept the score from being anymore lopsided.

Zane Gaul continues to be a dominate force inside and had his 12th double-double of the season with 20 points and 21 rebounds. He was presented a ball in pregame with his parents commemorating his 1000th point at PHS and said, “I actually accomplished that in the Arcadia game. My goal now is to get to 1000 rebounds. I just want to keep playing at a high level to help my team.” Gaul is averaging 18.4 points and 11.8 rebounds per game and has 911 rebounds right now with at least nine games to play.
Prescott (5-0) in the Grand Canyon Region and (13-5) overall will travel to Flagstaff to face Coconino on Tuesday at 7 pm.

Mingus at Bradshaw Mountain
The Bears had three players score in double figures to beat the Mingus Marauders in Prescott Valley.
Preston Ranniker led with 15 points. Kylin Jackson added 13, and Cam Ranniker had 12 to combine for 40 of the 62 points.
Bradshaw Mountain came out slow, falling behind by as many as ten before rebounding to take a 24-21 lead at the half. A huge third quarter made the score 53-33, putting the game out of reach.
The Bears (5-2) in the GCR, and (15-8) overall will play at Prescott on Thursday at 7 pm.

The Lady Badgers blew out Mohave 66-14 in Bullhead City to remain in second place in the Grand Canyon Region.
Prescott will host Coconino on Tuesday at 7pm.
Bradshaw Mountain at Mingus
The Lady Bears got double-double by senior Kalli Smith with 16 points and 10 rebounds, but it was not enough to overcome the Mingus Lady Marauders in a 51-35 setback in Cottonwood.
Alice Kinsey had a double-double to lead Mingus with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Presley Connolly added 10 points for Bradshaw Mountain who will play next at Prescott on Thursday at 5:30pm.
