The City of Prescott welcomes all in celebrating Veterans Day at the Annual Veterans Day Parade, Monday, November 11, 2024. There will be an Opening Ceremony beginning at 10:30am on the stage, located at the intersection of Union and Cortez Streets (directly across for the Yavapai County Courthouse entrance). The Parade is set to begin at 11:00am.
The Parade route will start at the corner of Willis St and Cortez St., then head south down Cortez St. to Goodwin St. It will then cross over Goodwin to Montezuma St and then head north back up to Willis St and Sheldon St.
Spectators are asked to be mindful of downtown businesses when parking. Also be mindful of the weather, so dress in layers! Spectators may bring chairs to line the curbs and sidewalks, and EZ Up tents for shades (along the curb only) if needed. There will be a special tented seating area across form the stage for Veterans and their families, chairs will be provided.
We would also like to let the public know that members from the Forest Service will be on hand in front of the Courthouse steps to provide information to Veterans on their America the Beautiful Pass, along with members of the Northern Arizona VA Health Care System to provide information on Veteran services.
The following are street closures Monday, November 11, 2024.
- Staging Area (green): 7:00am to 1:00pm
- Washington St, Virginia St, Pleasant St, Alarcon St & Marina St (Gurley St to Sheldon St); Willis St (Washington St to Montezuma St); Cortez St (Willis St to Sheldon St)
- Parade Route (gray): 9:00am to 1:00pm
- Cortez St (Willis St to Goodwin St); Goodwin St (Cortez St to Montezuma St) and Montezuma St (Goodwin St to Sheldon St)
- Subsequent closures on Parade Route: 9:00am to 1:00pm
- Gurley St (Granite St to Marina St)
- Parking for ADA and Permitted Dignitaries
- Union St (Cortez St to Marina St)
