Elderly Oasis, an organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of seniors, is proud to announce a new initiative aimed at providing a much-needed getaway for low-income seniors across the United States. The program offers two free nights at the Best Western Prescottonian in Prescott, Arizona, to qualified low-income seniors aged 62 and above.
“Giving back to the community, especially to those facing financial challenges, is our long-term goal here at Elderly Oasis,” says Jana Valenzano, Project Manager. “We believe it’s crucial for low-income seniors, whether they’re local or have family in Prescott, to have the opportunity to enjoy a relaxing stay in our beautiful city without financial stress. We’re excited to make that possible for seniors from all over the country who might otherwise not be able to afford such a trip.”
The program is specifically designed for low-income seniors nationwide who meet the qualification criteria. The application process is simple and sensitive to the needs of low-income applicants:
- Contact the project manager, Jana Valenzano, at 928-800-1102 or manager@elderlyoasis.org
- Receive and complete an intake form, which includes income verification
- Review the program guidelines and specific low-income qualification requirements
The Best Western Prescottonian, located at 1317 E. Gurley St. in Prescott, Arizona, will host qualified low-income seniors for their complimentary two-night stay. This opportunity is particularly valuable for out-of-state seniors with limited financial means who have family or friends in the Prescott area but may not have the resources to visit otherwise.
Elderly Oasis encourages community members, social workers, and senior centers to spread the word about this ongoing project to low-income seniors across the country who might benefit from this opportunity for a refreshing break in Prescott.
“We hope this program will allow seniors on fixed incomes to reconnect with loved ones, explore our beautiful city, or simply enjoy a change of scenery without worrying about accommodation costs,” adds Valenzano. “Financial constraints shouldn’t be a barrier to creating meaningful experiences for our seniors.”
Elderly Assistance Program – Low Income Guidelines for Applicants
- Age Guidelines: To qualify, the applicant must be of age 62 or older. This definition of “elderly” aligns with the majority of senior programs.
- Income Thresholds – To be considered as low income, an applicant’s total earnings must be at or below 60% of the Area Median Income (AMI).
- Asset Considerations – Applicants will need to provide proof of total assets. Excluding the value of a primary residence and personal possessions, total assets must not exceed $35,000. Assets include, but are not limited to, savings accounts, checking accounts, investments (e.g., stocks, bonds), and material assets (e.g., cars, jewelry, property).
- Verification Process – In order to assess eligibility, the applicants must provide required verification of the above factors. The financial information can be verified via the latest income tax return statement or a recent bank statement. Official verification from assisted government bodies (like the Department of Social Services) may also be accepted.
By enforcing these standards, this organization aims to support the elderly population in our community who are truly in need. It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure the accuracy and validity of the information provided. In the case of false information, the applicant may be disqualified from our program and any benefits received may be subject to rescission.
These guidelines are developed and enforced by Elderly Oasis, and we reserve the right to modify them at any time with or without notice.
