Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office Weekend Roundup

Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office on Look out for Inmate who did not Return After Work Release

On May 1st, YCSO, Detention staff reported that Trevor Trammel was on work release but failed to return on time. He was supposed to return to the Camp Verde Jail at 5:30 pm but never arrived. Jail staff attempted to call Trammel but were unable to make contact. Two YCSO deputies responded to the jail to secure details about the inmate and his list of contacts and known address’ in the area. YCSO Detention staff contacted Trammel’s probation officer and the County Attorney to secure an arrest warrant, and YCSO dispatch alerted all the surrounding agencies to advise them of the probable cause for arrest for Escape in the 2nd degree.

Deputies contacted Trammel’s place of work and spoke to his boss, who confirmed the phone number deputies had was correct.  Other deputies visited all known addresses for Trammel with no success, but while contacting residences at the locations in Camp Verde, a deputy spoke with an acquaintance of the Trammel. The resident stated that Trammel left in an older white 4Runner with a broken windshield. This person stated that Trevor left with his girlfriend and had talked about plans to go to Michigan.

As of Friday May 3, a nationwide arrest warrant has been issued for Trammel’s arrest. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Trevor Trammel or the location of the vehicle he was reported to be driving, please contact YCSO at 928-771-3260 or anonymously through Yavapai Silent Witness at 1-800-932-3232.

YCSO Detectives Solve Fraud Case While Investigating a Different Fraud Case

In December 2023, Yavapai County’s Criminal Investigations Bureau became involved in a fraud case involving 49-year-old Marylee Moore of Camp Verde. Moore worked as a purchaser for an insulation contractor in Cornville, who called YCSO after learning that prior to her termination, Moore had used the company credit card to defraud the company out of over $14,000. Marylee Moore was arrested and booked into jail on those fraud, schemes, and theft charges.

During the Cornville investigation, YCSO detectives learned about another fraud case involving Moore that had occurred several years prior in Camp Verde. Moore had been the store manager at Earnie’s Smoke Shop (Mini Mart) and had been fired from that position as well. The lead detective was able to determine that Moore had defrauded that business out of more than $307,000.00 dollars. Moore was subsequently charged with fraud schemes, theft, aggravated taking identity of another, and forgery.

“Our deputies and detectives understand that offenders who steal from our local citizens and businesses are depriving those victims of their earnings from weeks or even years of hard work,” said YCSO Sheriff David Rhodes. “This type of crime is unacceptable, and I’m proud of our deputies and detectives who worked diligently to solve not only one case, but two”.

Shots Fired at YCSO Deputies

On Saturday evening at approximately 9:30pm, a YCSO deputy conducted a traffic stop on a motor vehicle in the JT’s Septic parking lot in Humboldt. While attempting to conduct a narcotics investigation and waiting for a K9, the deputies heard two gunshots from close range that were fired in their direction. They made the decision to conclude the traffic stop and let the driver leave so they could focus on the shots.

Through the investigation, they were able to find the suspect, 19-year-old Joshua Booth, and his vehicle and take him into custody without further incident.  Multiple firearms and shell casings were found lying next to the driver inside of the vehicle, and Booth was arrested on numerous felonies including aggravated assault and weapons charges.  YCSO Criminal Investigations is investigating the incident further.
